I had a dream quite sometime ago (about 3 yrs.), but still haunts me. It was were someone was howling in pain against a wooden wall (I'm guessing it was in a cabin), blood was splattered all over the walls. The person was huddled up against the wall, he had been shot. He looked like my older brother. Everytime I think about it, I see the dream in my mind, just as clearly as that night.

I strongly doubt that dreaming of a murder is a premonition that such events will occur to you or someone close to you.

It would be helpful if you could elaborate on the details of a specific dream you had. Typically, dreams of murder occur because of repressed anger or resentment towards a particular person. Or you may be angry at yourself. The person being murdered represents an aspect of yourself that you are trying to repress or destroy. For example, if you had dreamt that your mother was murdered, it may be that you see qualities in her that you also see in yourself and it is these qualities that you want to "kill". Thus murder dreams is symbolic for something or characteristics that you want to permanently rid yourself of. Often times, dreams recur because of unresolved feelings that you are not expressing in your waking hours. Your dreams can serve as an outlet in which you can safely confront and express your anger.

My mom always tells me that whenever you dream of a gruesome or scary dream about a person's death, it means that all his problems are gone and he will live a happier life. Yes, that is the asian belief. I think that the blood represents the markings or effects he will have on everyone in a good way. The way you have dreamt about your brother's suffering would very well mean that whatever problems he had is too much now and it will end now.

Most people that I have dreamt of in the same manner are very successful and happier now in life. Have some faith and think less about that dream. Think of yourself as the predictor of his happiness.

dreaming of harm coming to someone dear to us could be an indication of feelings of guilt we have towards that person and a fear that these feelings might result in losing them. are there unresolved conflicts between the two of you?
