I think that part of the experience of getting a tattoo is the pain. The buzz of the needle and the sting of the drawing on your skin is what makes the permanant mark worth it in the end. I think that if tattoos didn't hurt anymore, it would take away from the status that makes them so desirable in the first place. If you've never gotten a tattoo, you probably don't understand this. But once you get one, its the buzz and the pain that keep you coming back for more.

Needles scare the living crap out of me. I do, however, have my belly button pierced, five ear piercings, and I've had my tongue pierced. If there was a cream that could numb skin I would definitely get a tattoo. I want one I'm just too scared to do it.

No way... But that's just me. I don't like needles no matter what. I would never intentionally put myself under a needle if the procedure is going to last more than 2 seconds. A tattoo doesn't mean that much to me.

Yes, I would like to get a tattoo on the inside of my wrist, like a small thing, maybe a heart or a cute little picture/random item thing. LOL. But I'm afraid of needles, and I heard getting a tattoo is really painful, so yeah.

... DONT USE THE CREAM!! it only numbs the surface and actually hurts more then not using the cream.. trust me!! I have over 20 plus tats everywhere from feet to kneck .. I am so scared of needles too , and if i get my blood drawn i faint but tattoos dont scare me cause the needles dont go only a few layers deep. most places dont even hurt.. except feet! good luck

what does being scared of needles and numbing cream have to do with anything? if you were scared of pain then you would want a numbing cream. being scared of needles themselves is totally different.
and no, i prefer to (wo)man up and handle the pain.

There is numbing creams out there but if you put it on it will end up wearing off and the pain will all come at once and give you a great big shock WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSHSSHS

I am terrified of needles, and have 3 tattoos. If you want something bad enough, you do it. I still get nauseous when I have to get a shot or blood drawn.

i'm not a fan of needles.
and there is a "cream" to numb the top of your skin.
they used it on my mom when she got a shot in her arm to draw blood.
it's not a shot, it's a rubbing ointment.
you rub it on the surface, and you don't feel a thing when they draw your blood!
why won't they do that for tattoo's i wonder..
a lot more people would get them, they wouldn't hurt as bad!
