Isn't it amazing how many dummies have responded with some ignorant statement about seperation of Church and state...or 1st Amendment...sheesh.
What total ignorance of what the amendment stands for...I guess those who say such things were educated in public schools...ha, lol.....and never even READ the 2nd Amendment....
There is NO government document that even uses the phrase
'seperation of Church and State".
What imbeciles.

there's a distinction between talking approximately and getting to know approximately something. In a school the debate board is instructor/pupils and this creates a captive purpose audience. Christianity could be stated between friends no remember if that is not in a "compelled" way like instructor/pupil is yet this could additionally reason issues through look rigidity. the biggest reason Christianity is offensive to others is the 1st commandment. with the help of putting forward that each and every person different God's are fake or evil or incorrect immediately undermines different religions. Christianity at that is root says that a Christian could desire to objective to make others grow to be Christian so talking often ends up in tried conversion. This makes it much greater sturdy for a Christian to be sure the religion objectively and not use vocabulary/words that make it certainty. The very wording makes it incompatible with different religions. Ever word while a Christian talks approximately Islam they are going to say: Muslims have self assurance in.... yet will often say Christ/Bible notwithstanding says/teaches that... (tone/grammar/vocab provides Christ greater authority in that sentence) A have self assurance could be incorrect and the be conscious imparts that uncertainty whilst SAY/TEACHES is greater genuine to the subconscious ideas.

Ohio must be different than every other state in the US then. The current law only stops the schools from organizing, promoting, or endorsing any religious study or talk within the schools grounds. If an individual student, or a group, wishes to read the bible or meet for a prayer service they sure can. The school itself just can not be involved.
I think you are stretching the truth a bit in order to sensationalize a point.

When it comes to talking about Religion at School this should make sense to you as it does to most of us. School is no place for theological discussion. It is for learning. Not everyone at your School will be the same religion as you, thus you may offend someone. The same way that you may be offended by someone talking about Islam or Satanism. If you want to talk about your God all day at School you might look into a private School. You ARE allowed to pray in School as well. As long as the School is not sponsoring the prayer. The poster directly above me is lying.

i'm steadfastly in favor of the separation of church and state and so stridently condemn any teaching or preaching of religion (any religion) by any public school officials or faculty. however, if what you say is true then perhaps the school system goes too far. a student should be able to carry their religious book to school as long as it isn't used for proselytizing purposes.
methinks tho you're being a bit dramatic. i can see no way that you could be prevented from speaking to other students about any topic by between classes and at lunch ... unless you're annoying other students by preaching at them and they complain about you to the office.

It is like that in all schools, not just Ohio. Maybe they do it to eliminate some arguements, or they don't want teachers indoctrinating kids..
I don't think it really matters, why can't a kid read a Bible in school as long as its not interupting? They read everything else.

Well if christians want to carry around bibles than everyone else should get to carry around their religious books. Christians wouldn't like that though. Would they? Just like they wouldn't like a Pagan talking about say Cerunnos or Gaia. I don't think that religion belongs in school. There are enough Christian based schools in this country. Want to carry around a bible and talk about your god all day? Then go to one of them.

it is not allowed anywhere. when i lived in Missouri the teachers told us all to bring a book to read during quiet time.......i chose to bring my Bible. at the time the story of esther was fastenating me. i was told that even though i was not sharing my Bible or preaching at anyone that having a bible was grounds for being suspended. and i was not allowed to have it at all. they took my Bible away from me and my dad had to go to the school to get it back. it was considered to be in apropriate material. oh i also got suspended for 3 days for praying quietly over my lunch no spoken words just a bowed head and closed eyes and i was out.

Actually, they cannot suspend you for carrying your bible. It is one thing if you start preaching in the lunch room. It's another thing entirely if you want to read your bible in your free time.
