The kids will adapt. We did this very thing. When we finally moved back to our hometown the kids actually missed the old one and have often said they wished we had stayed there. Make sure they know that you sympathize with them so they don't feel like their opinion was totally ignored but you do what you need to for your entire family. Best of luck and congratulations!

I have made several observances throughout my life. Some of them I can apply to most people in general, so I have developed them into "Doug's Rules of Humanity".
One of those rules goes like this: "PEOPLE RESIST CHANGE"

Conversely, I have another rule: "PEOPLE ARE VERY ADAPTABLE"

So even though your kids will miss their friends, & maybe even whine, & complain about how you have ruined their lives (because they are resisting the change). They will soon adapt, & quickly integrate themselves into their new community. (because they are very adaptable)

13 miles isn't really that far away, & you & your husband have the big picture to think about. Not just the narrow focus of a child, so don't allow yourself to be led by them. YOU ARE THE PARENTS!

BTW, in this day & age, I find it hard to believe that there is still such a thing as an "accidental pregnancy", among adults.
But if that's the way you want to look at it, all the more power to you! lol ;-)
Congratulations, but after #6 maybe you wanna think about putting a cork in it. **SMILES**

I guess you have never lived in the country?? I'm use to driving my kids 24 miles ( one way) just to meet the bus! Why can't you drive them to school or to the closest place the bus runs?

They will adapt and that's not that far away, about 20-25mins drive. And stop fooling yourself, there are no accidents and if you don't want more kids, one of you should get fixed.
