I graduated from medical school at the age of 23 ,up until that time i had shown only a passing interest in what was cooking & how it was done, soon i had time to spare from a grinding study schedule & started cooking, finding i not only loved the routine stuff but found improvising a challenge,That was some 40 yrs ago ,i still enjoy cooking & have won many recipe contests in Indian magazines .
I think i will not be wrong in saying YES to the good cook question.

People say I am, but I do not think I am. I don't follow recipes closely enough to actually ever have anything turn out the same twice. I also like to use up "stuff" in the refrigerator so I don't have to throw it out (I hate wasting food). So if it turned out really really good, I can never remember what all I did with the recipe that gave me the idea, and what all I had in the fridge at the time. My family has never had the same thing twice. But they always tell me it is great, so I belieive them .
I learned when I started living on my own in a commune in the early 70's. There were some pretty interesting concoctions, and I learned a lot from the others there. Later I missed my Mother's cooking so much I watched her. I have a sister who is truly magical in the kitchen - anything she touches turns out just wonderful! And it always looks perfect, too. I like learning from her.

I am a good cook and a succesful chef. I started making pancakes when I was 10. My mother never cooked brakfast and I loved pancakes. The difference between a cook and a chef is that a chef is a manager. a chef also creates dishes. when I am looking to make something new I download 3 or 4 recipes study them and then go and make it my own way. Each Chef has his own tastes. A succesful chef is one that has a following of people to his own particular taste. I have been cooking for forty years. 34 of them professionally. I started in a restaurant as a dishwasher and I was fry guy within a couple of months.

Yes, I'm a good cook. I started helping and learning with my mother in the kitchen. She was a Jr. High and High school Home Economics teacher. I don't remember how young I was, but I already knew how to cook when I got to 7th grade and had to take Home Ec. Of course, I continue to learn more things about cooking and baking and preserving foods.

I have had many people tell me that I am a fabulous cook. I actually, started cooking after college when I joined the military.
I really love cooking and miss it very much, since I work late now.
My kids love my cooking. So, they really love the weekend when I can sit under the stove and cook all weekend long.
