No one can answer that question with any kind of accuracy unless they've actually met you. There are guidelines about what is overweight according to your Body Mass Index (BMI); you can find out what your BMI is on any number of web sites, but even that doesn't tell the whole story, as someone who has a lot of muscle compared to their height is going to have a high BMI even though they are very fit.

Ultimately the question shouldn't be "am I fat" but "am I fit"? If you exercise regularly and eat reasonably, you're probably in good shape and are carrying around more muscle mass than the average woman, and probably aren't fat. If you have a pretty sedentary lifestyle and don't watch what you eat, you might very well be fat and need to get out and be more active.

You can't really tell with out a picture, but at 5'5" and 140 you should not be being call fat. I know some girls at about that height and between 115 and 140, they look good.

Hi,

I've tried so many different diets in the last 10 years that I can say now, they don't work!
A few months ago, I came across a great product for weight loss and like many others I was skeptical about it. But I really wanted to lose weight and I tried it. The results were excellent and I lost 20 pounds in 2 months. I felt fantastic and I dropped another 5 pounds safely. That's why I recommend you check this product at http://www.thin-quick.us where they have a free trial and you only pay $4.95 shipping and handling.
Good luck!

you could have just a little 'youngster fats' on the grounds that your in sixth grade (that is typical and can finally change into muscle). you're without doubt NOT fats despite the fact that! even a dimension three isn't viewed tremendous.

No you are not fat. Work at being confident and happy with the way you are and who you are. if you are not that way, then identify what you would like to change and work on those action items.

One way to determine where one stands in terms of their weight is to determine your BMI (Body mass Index). It gives an estimation (its not accurate if you have large muscle stores) to determine whether you are underweight, normal, overweight or obese.

Sex, Age, weight and height are all taken into account to determine where one stands in terms of their weight.

An online calculator can be found here:

Here's what US Medical authority (CDC) says about your weight/height. Your BMI is 23.3.

Normal BMI range is 18.5 to 24.9

You are basically in the NORMAL range, according to the CDC.

To be considered overweight for your height, you need to weigh 150 lb or more.
