I have brownish/redish hair, if I were to dye my hair a dirty blonde color would it be an odd color?

you need to correctly raise the color levels other wise you might get a coppery or orangish color to your hair, the best way to cancel out reddish tones is to use a color with a green under base, such as some ash blondes, but if you raise the color levels correctly you might not get that coppery color. to do this you must use a 20-40 volume peroxide *depending on how dark you are* and gently do it in increments.

when you get down to it, just let a COLOR PROFESSIONAL do it, go to someone who SPECIALIZES IN COLOR. remember coloring is a chemical process.

I've had a bad orangish yellow hair coloring job before, trust me.. its not pretty.. and its not easy to keep dye in it.

It would probably turn orange or it might turn 3 differant colors all at once thats what happened to someone i know.
The best thing to do is to go to a stylist or a pro and they will dye it a blonde color but without it going red or orange.

Hope i helped :]

Are you simply bleaching it? If so, it would be tinted with your current colour. If you bleach it and then dye it the colour you want, it should turn out a regular dirty blonde.

For the best results, it's best to visit a professional, since they will be able to avoid any discolouring.

it might be orange...when I bleach my dark brown hair for highlights, it turns this bright copper orange color. it never ever truly gets "blonde".
