I have dark brown hair with some light highlights in it. I want to go blond, like a platinum blond. I've always been daring with my hair and have never cared too much if my hair gets messed up cause it grows fast. However, I don't want my hair to fall completely out. What are some of the bad things that can happen?

In my salon, I get this question asked alot.
The worst thing that could happen is your hair could become completely damaged to where it has a "gewy" feeling and it would just stretch right off your head. It's happened tome MANY of times. I bleached my hair 7 times last year and I still have a head full of hair. I say go for it Hun. BUT, make sure you buy a SALON quality conditioner because after bleaching, you re going to need alot of it.
Also, make sure the person doing it knows what they re doing because if they didnt, instead of blonde, it might turn orange!!!!

Get it done by a professional. You can turn really bad colors if you try to do it yourself. Ive done it, and had to bleach my hair like twice in one day, then redying the next with a blond darker than what i wanted, then waiting a few weeks, and dying an even lighter blond. Platinum blond is hard to achieve, but if you go to a stylist, they will figure out whats best for your hair, so you dont fry it.

got to professional. when I get my very dark brown hair bleached for highlights the lightest the person can get my hair is a light coppery orange color. i have never had truly white/blonde colored hair. and the pro said I probably never would.

well, there's always the possibility it will turn orange, or not get light enough, but..if you dont care about that..about the only other thing that would happen, is your hair becomes less healthy, brittle...you might start seeing breakage...but...as long as you haven't spent the last several months in the peroxide, your hair should be ok.

nothing really bad can happen (if you get it done professionally) but you may be shocked when you first look in the mirror. when going from brown to platinum blonde the difference can be quite dramatic at first, but you'll get used to it.

well, your hair could fall out but that isn't very probable. something more common that i have seen is people who try to dye their hair platinum blond from a darker color, and it turns orange- and looks awful.

well it just gets difficult to maintain.. make sure you have the money to continue redying it otherwise when the roots start showing it looks stupid. the darker your hair is the faster this happens..
