It's not true- you'd have to be gnashing teeth together to actually get them stuck, and even then it's nearly impossible. With braces of 20-30 years ago, it was a lot 'easier' to get braces hooked together, but nowadays they're much more compact and thus harder to get stuck.
In other words, no.

I dont know about that but if you both have lips rings and braces...you can get stuck and it takes about 2 hours to get unstuck...it was a horrible class trip

No, I don't think so, I mean i had braces when i was young, and never got stuck.
+ what is there to get 'stuck' on? i never had loose wires or anything.

if you are both terrible kissers and you clumsily bang your teeth into each other its going to be uncomfortable no matter what and if you have braces they can get stuck together. otherwise youll be fine
