I was gunna bring my camera to school, to take some pics with my friends. I realized there was no room in my bag, so I took my camera out of my case and put it in my jeans pocket. I went to school. Then, on the ride home, the camera was digging into my leg so I took it out of my pocket and put it on the seat. I went inside, forgetting my camera was in the car. My mom then went out to run some erins. When she got home she told me that she ran into her friend from like 11 years ago, and she is now a hooker and is homeless, and is a cocaine addict. I was shocked. Then the next morning, I look in the car for my camera and it's not there. I searched everywhere. Then I see this old gray hat. I asked my mom who's it was, and she said it was the lady that she saw. Apparently she gave her a ride in the back seat. So obviously this lady took it!! But if I tell my parents they will kill me for leaving the camera not in it's case in the car overnight. Plus, my dad just got over something else-

Ok I think I should add, my mom was only giving her a ride and dropping her off somewhere to be nice. Her life is screwed up, and she just wanted to be nice to this lady. Also, my mom didn't know the camera was in the back of the car. Plus, she could just use it against me by saying it was possibly someone else who stole it because she was running erins, or its in my messy room and I'll have to tear through it to find it. Oh god im in such trouble I dunno what I'm gunna do!

Tell the TRUTH. I bet your parents get most mad when you hide something or lie about something, don't they? That's because all any parent wants is the TRUTH. Think about it.
Good luck.

It's not like you left it sitting on a bench or something. The car is an assumed reasonably safe place for you to have left it. Thus, as the previous posters have said, best to just tell the truth about you leaving it in the car. However, suggesting that the woman took it isn't very nice and potentially false (although the evidence suggests it was probably her), so rather than making accusations, leave that conclusion to your parents, if they feel it's justified.

Uh-oh... I was in a same/not really sort of situation... I brought my camera to school one day, and put it in my purse. In the morning, before classes started, took it out to show my friends a video I have taken of another friend, who had did ballet for us. The school bell rang, and I forgot about it, rushing to class, I put it in my bag but I didn't put it in the case. After school ended, I looked for my camera, and found that the screen had cracked, the screen completely white and I couldn't see anything. That was the bad news. The good news was that I could still take pictures, it was still functional. I was so nervous, I didn't know what to do.
But I sucked it up, and told my mom and dad that night, telling them the truth. Yes, they were mad for a while, but they respected the fact that I didn't hide it, and lie about it later, but I told them the truth. I think they'd like it for you to tell them the truth about the camera. I didn't get grounded or punished or anything.
I think you should tell them, even if your dad just got over whatever it was. I personally think the last thing you'd want to loose was your parents trust, so prove to 'em that you don't want to loose it and tell 'em the truth.

tell her you left it in the case in the car...tell your mom that she would still have the camera if she wasn't letting homeless hookers into the car...

i got a better idea. call your dad and tell him that a hooker drug addict stole a camera out of your car. Then he will be mad at your mom instead and think its her fault for the camera getting stolen. Leaving a camera in the car is not really that big of a deal. Your mom hanging out with druggies is worse.

Honey.
You had a reasonable expectation that the camera would be safe in the backseat of the car.
Your MOM made a bad decision to give this strange person a ride in her car with her daughters camera in the back seat.

Don't guilt yourself into believing that this is your fault.
Because it isn't!
OK?
If your parents give you a hard time about this, just show them this answer.
I would tell them that THEY are responsible for protecting their children. Even when their kids make mistakes.
Yours was a small mistake.
Your mom (with good intentions I might add) made a bigger one.

oh my god! Just tell your mom what happened and tell her to go where she dropped that lady off at and ask her if she took it ... who knows maybe she will admit it or make up a excuse for taking it and give it back, Your parents can just get over your accedent by leaving it in the car.... How did you know some drug addict was gonna still it out of the car! Maybe your mom will by you another one or help you by one since it was her friend that she let in the car that stole it!
Good luck!

If the camera is not there how are your parents to know whether or not it was in or out of the case. The most simple solution is to make the case disappear, unless your parents have already seen the case and assumed that the camera is in the case.

Well it depends how much you care about that camera. Did it have alot of personal pictures? And who knows what that lady will do with them. You should just tell you mom and she should understand it was an honest mistake. And also you should because of safety purposes. You don't know what that lady might do with the pictures.
Good Luck :]

The best thing you can do is to tell your mom and dad the truth: you think your camera was stolen when you set it down. Your mom can handle her old friend when she takes her hat back to her, and ask her if she knows anything about it.

If your mom's drug-addict friend did indeed steal your camera, please remember she is desperate. It was probably pawned off at a nearby shop, and can be recovered at the same place.

WOW, Good Luck, but tell your mom that you placed the camara on the seat while on your way to school because you did not want to crush it with your super tight jeans. Then tell her that it crossed your mind because you were mentally studying for a quiz you were about to have. Then tell her "Mom if you did not take it, then its obvious that your friend might have taken it, Now its your fault for giving rides to people like that" Then say "You have a white powder on your nose" while grabbing yours.
Just blame it on her!!!!!!!
God Luck!!!!!!!

Trust me,,You need to tell your parents what happened. Your Mom's so called friend is a thief and she needs to know. Everybody forgets and leaves stuff in the car from time to time. You won't get in too much trouble if you tell the truth.
