If you want a name that means the same as your Chinese one, tell us. (Otherwise you'll have to comb through a dictionary of names for one with the right meaning.) If you want one that sounds at least a little like your Chinese one, how about Thomas or Antony, so that people will call you Tom or Tony?

Thomas was one of Jesus' disciples, the one who doubted that Jesus had come back from the dead until he saw him himself. The name has been popular for many centuries and has been borne by many prominent men. Its actual meaning is "a twin."

The earliest Antony we know much about was Julius Caesar's friend Marc Antony (in Latin, Marcus Antonius), who is best known for his affair with Cleopatra. Two well -known Christian saints were named Antony, and the name continues to be popular, although its meaning is uncertain.

Another alternative for you would be to choose the name of some English-speaking man whom you admire, or simply to choose a name with a meaning and associations that appeal to you.

Why would you change your name, it reflects you ancestors and your culture? Is English and therefore the English better than the Chinese language and culture?
