Oh. I forgot this one off the list....

*drink*

Depends on how you define persecuted. And where you are.

Toaster, that DID happen..... there was an execution order in Missouri, it was perfectly legal to shoot a mormon on sight.... Perhaps we are not persecuted anymore, but we were once.

I am lds an proud of it. Yes we are.

At school some one will make a snide comment or if i disagree they will say " Well thats what mormons belive" A friend said spanking was bad i said spanking is not bad unless it becomes viloent. I swap on the but of a 7 yearold wil teach them to not fo it again but however the child should not cry during the spaniking of after.

People will tell me haha you can drink achohal and i almost want to say " So, i wont grow up and be a drunk like you will." but i dont i sweetley say no we cant and i wouldnt any way because it harmes my body.

Often on the bus some one will say something about mormons not relizing i am mormon then i will turn around and say "excuse me, I am mormon" and they will stop because they have been placed in a awkward situation.

Yes, >>>>>>>> I see that they are.
When you read the endless supply of nasty, and insulting questions to members asking about doctirne, or calling Joseph Smith everything, from a con man, to a thief, Yes, they are.
People make fun of Holy rites. special clothing, doctrine, even books about the history of the church, Yes,they are.
Oh, and lest we not forget, the ever popular, no brainer, of Mormon/Moron. What a truly special mindset, sinks lower than low, to use that one, and yet, they think they are being so amusing. I call it plain ignorance. And persecution.
And not to mention, that fact that most people on here, still think that LDS, still practice polygamy. THEY DO NOT!!!
The RLDS, still practice polygamy. But that, is a bastardized version of the church, and has nothing to do with mainline Mormonism.

When the people on this site, can ask questions about the LDS church, and the members CAN answer the questions, instead of smart@sses, that think they know more about the church , than the members, that will be a red letter day.
And when the bashers call it a day, and decide to let people worship the way they want to, and, how they worship, that it is no one's business, that will be a red letter day, too.

Religion is like food. Taste it. If you don't like the way it tastes, try something else, but, move on!!!
Don't try to spoil the food for everyone else.

Just look at the current US presidential race. I have heard people speak out that they will not vote for Mitt Romney because he is a Mormon. That sounds like persecution or at least, prejudice to me. It is singling someone else based on religion alone.

I guess it matters what you consider persecution. Compared to back when the Church was founded? No not at all. But I have encountered people who pass judgment on me as a person when they found out I was LDS. People who were my friends, or at least friendly to me, have announced to my face and to others, that I am going to Hell and they stop being friends with me. It's sad that relationships must suffer because of ignorance.

Not so much now, but back when the LDS church was first started they were. They were taken from their homes and imprisoned unjustly, tarred and feathered by night, murdered, had their homes plundered or burned or destroyed, and were driven from city to city to city. It was actually legal to shoot a Mormon and not get in trouble for it. And all of this happened in the USA, the place people came to for religious freedom and where you were supposed to have freedom of speech... go figure.

Not anymore. They were in the start of the LDS church/cult. But not now. Although they will claim it with Mitt Rommey running for President

Not so much anymore,
but a lot of other religions say they fellow a different bible which is not true. They fellow the bible and the book of Mormon is reference to the bible.

Not so much now as in the early days, but smear tactics against the religion and its doctrine prevails heavily.
