even though technically christmas is a religious holiday it has lost most of the religious aspects and is now concidered to be only a holiday.
celebrating christmas can be done in two ways, by celebrating the birth of christ or by having some good times with family and friends and showing your love for eachother.
its okay to celebrate if your an athiest.
if you were say wanting to celebrate hannukuh that might seem a little off but christmas is fine.

If you want to celebrate a holiday respectfully and enjoy the good tidings, do it!
It is an opportunity to spend quality time with people you care about and perhaps learn about the beliefs of others.
It may be useful for you to study the importance and meaning of rituals in human history. There are many psychological, social and emotional benefits to celebrating traditions... no specific religious "belief" required.
Merry Christmas!

Of course dear :) just look at Wal-Mart Target Herbergers' Costco Shopko and other retail tycoons they have totally taken Christ out of Christmas. It's about making investors (stock holders) of those companies happy becasue it's THEIR MONEY AT STAKE so money money money that's what the holidays are all about you should buy some Mastercard stock it might be worth a lot more in fact that can be your celebration status making your net worth go up buy buying stock in credit card companies lol just check out the chart.
Peace love and hugs

I think it is wrong because you are in it only for the gifts! That is wrong and hurtful to the people that are Christians. I have a friend that thinks there is no proof of Jesus, but he never even studied it or even bothered to try to learn about it. If you think there is no Jesus or heaven then I want to see your proof. Go to church for a couple of weeks and then try to tell me there is no Jesus. The bible was not made from someone that was just creative. It was made from all of the stories. There would be no Christmas if it weren't for all of the Christians out there believing in Jesus. So stop with all of your INSULTING qostions about Jesus. You can have your beliefs, but don't try to change minds of the young and the innocent. (I added that because I read all of your other questions due to you being one of my contacts) :p

I'm an Athiest and I celebrate 'Christmas'. Christmas has lost pretty much all of its religious meaning over the years. Now it;s just a tradition to give gifts......
So, yes, it's fine

Yes because Christmas is loosing its meaning of being the birthday of Christ. That isnt what it seems to be about anymore. Its all about presents and Santa, (where did that idea come from anyways?), heavily decorated trees.
I dont see why not, if Christmas does seem to mean what it really means anymore.

I celebrate Christmas. I just don't think of it as having a religious meaning. To me it's a happy holiday of giving and recieving, but not religious. I don't know what it is for my dad though.

Well, I guess it is ok. It's originally pagan in origins and was a celebration to the sun god and as long as you don't mind celebrating something that has to do with any kind of god, then go ahead and have fun.

christmas is not about anything religious so of course you may celebrate this holiday.
If you will allow me to give you one historic fact to grow on you shall grow and be amazed at how foolish this holiday came to be.
William Bruster demanded that Christmas also Easter not be observed for it was never found in the bible. and for this- Do you k now the Dutch punished him.
if these facts are incorrect I beg for correction!
it holds no good will but for those whom you make rich buying into this day of broke after and indebt after.

technically no- it is CHRISTmas
but since Christmas is, unfortunately, completely over-commercialized now the reason for the season seems to be buried in presents and festive lights
doesn't bother me at all if you want to celebrate it: the more the merrier
