possibly, I wasn't born with the greatest voice at all, but because I didn't listen to what other people though and just kept singing I eventually improved and now have a pretty decent one. There are a lot of artists who aren't talented at all as well... just to boost your spirits. Keep singing, you may never no unless you try.

Yes you can, lots of people think they cant sing but have had not teaching....in breath control, vocal production etc. If you picked up an instrument and had never had a lesson you wouldnt say "I can't play this ever" you would say, I need a lesson and to be taught to play. It is the same with your voice. The only exception would be if you were completely tone deaf which means you cannot hear and sing back a note correctly. It is an instrument which needs practice and you will also find if you use it correctly and often your range will extend and you will be able to sing higher and lower after time.

Sweetie, finding what registers you are comfortable in is key. So what you are saying is that you can carry a tune but don't sing in the average range. Don't sweat it! You don't have to be a 1st soprano to be a good singer. It is hard to find great singers in the lower ranges. I know it is frustrating when you can't quite hit those higher registers. I have chronic bronchitis and also love to sing/play guitar and I sing lower than any other woman and some men too that I interact with on karaoke sites. Believe it or not, just sing and push yourself a little harder each day to try to reach that not even if you have to crank up the volume in your throat. Here is a link I want you to listen to my raspy *** voice but you can use it to your benefit. OK? There are lots of raspy sounding millionairre recording artists out there. Find your comfort zone where you don't have to strain. Good luck. You can e-mail me @sherijgriggs@yahoo.com p.s. Have you checked out Singsnap yet? It's totally free karaoke and a great way to get feedback on what others think you sound like. Peace-OUT! :)

Any one can sing the question is if it is in tune. Accurate singing is all about listening and being able to immitate sounds. It isn't about hitting high pitched sounds either. It is about being musical.
Most people can learn to sing if they take the time and learn to listen to what is really going on with music. It takes practice and and more practice. Take some lessons from a real bonified voice teacher and see how it goes. If you still love music but decide singing isn't your thing, learn to play the piano or guitar. You won't regret it.

Hi..
I used to sing karaoke for a couple months at a night-club.. I really liked it and it also netted me new friends.. Most of it was the guts to get on stage by yourself, very nerve-racking if your shy or in a room of total strangers.. But YES, it's very possible... You just need some confidence what you do is to make sure your not totally alone on your ma-den voyage and have someone in the audience to sing to.. Just sing to that person, you can have 100 people there and still do well..
What I did on my mad-en voyage was to listen first to other people sing, to get used to the acoustics of the room we we're in .. I was encouraged by the crowd size, the acoustics and the music selection, allot of music I knew.. I was scared as I never heard my voice over a loud-speaker before.. But the crowd was people I knew (luckily).. Very re-assuring.. I instantly loved it.. I did it every weekend afterwards.. I even got free beer..:-)) Not allot just 2-bottles a night. Give it a try and good luck!!!!

If you're a guy and your voice is still changing, you need to wait till it's finished or you can damage it. Professional male singers that hit this point have to take a break and return to training and singing afterwards - sometimes a couple of years or more.
If you're beyond that and want to improve, know that ANYONE can - esp. if you get with a singing teacher that can show you how and when to to breathe, posture and mouth position. Knowing these and doing vocal exercises can give you a rich and powerful voice - you can truly amaze yourself and others.
Best of luck!!! =)

yes i sing all the time, but no one ever asks me to sing. In fact when in school i joined the choir, and everyone got to sing out buy me, but i still love to sing. I sing on tapes and then sing with myself. I try harmony, which in reality is just off key singing for me, but still do it. Singing is good for the soul. I just love to sign going down the highway, having the stereo on and all the people just hear a waaaauuuummm as i go by. I love it. Sing, sing your heart out, and dont worry about the people who are hung up on what is good. singing is good, and that is all that counts.

anyone can sing....not everyone will sound good.
real talent is God given. You can always improve, but you've got to start with some raw talent!
Just watch American Idol and you'll see it over and over! Why can't people just accept who they are?
EVERYONE IS GOOD AT SOMETHING!
