I'm a singer myself, so the most important things first of all are the basics. You must have upright singing posture, breathing from the abdomen rather than the chest, and an open soft pallet. Warm up every time before you sing to prevent damage to your voice. Also, record yourself singing so you can hear yourself and hear what exactly you need to improve on.

I can sing quite well but hitting high notes is a bit of a problem.A technique I use that practically solves this problem is opening my mouth really wide while singing.I am not sure exactly how this works but it works wonders for me.The other day I hit a really high note I had been struggling to get right.

Mostly by practice. If you don`t have a voice teacher, try the library for tapes and books, good luck, and I`d like some up front tickets to your first concert. LUV
