If its soo important for you to have...Bring some for yourself and if they dont want it oh well..but knowing your the only one that likes them you should bring stuff they will enjoy as well since you are the guest......if you were in my family we'd still have something with cranberries in it...even if it wasnt a large amount and we'd send the left overs home with you.....but my family is odd...so..

I see both sides to this. I understand where you feel it's rude because (like the other person said) you are the guest and should be accomodated. However as long as they are not forcing you to eat a bunch of stuff you don't like and are making things you DO like then I don't see the problem. Do you really think it's necessary to battle over cranberries? You could bring them if you must have them or just enjoy what they provide and eat cranberries another time!

Definitely bring your cranberry dish, and just to be extra nice bring another dish that you feel the whole family would enjoy. Pumpkin pie, cherry pie, a dish of nuts, make sure this second item is something you like but that you absolutely know everyone else will eat....

If I liked cranberries, then I'd take cranberries. Someone might decide to check it out and discover they have taste buds they didn't know they had. If not, then more for you. Perhaps if you made your cranberries into a salad, and the cranberry salads are delicious, some might be tempted to try it. Might even call it by a different name till all who wanted to sample it ate a bait of it then enlighten them as to what they just ate. I could be a meanie on a deal like this. :-)

Its not rude.... I do it all the time. My family knows and understands I like them.... And since they don't like them they always forget to fix some for me..... I just bring my own in a little glass dish along with something else that everyone else likes to eat. Like deviled eggs or a desert.... It helps you feel more comfortable bringing something for everyone plus your cranberries

Nothing wrong with bringing some cranberries, especially if it is family. It is not like you're not going to eat their food, too, and it is not like they are strangers. It's just some cranberries! Bring another dish for everyone if you want to play it safe.

Holiday dinners with my family are always pot luck. The hostess always supplies the meat and the rest of the guests are assigned different side dishes and are welcome to bring other dishes besides what they were assigned. We try to bring something everyone will eat. Bringing something that only you will eat really means that you are not contributing to the meal. I assume that you plan to eat a little of what everyone else brings. If that is the case, then you are being a freeloader by purposely bringing something that no one else likes, yet eating their food.

If you were told it was OK to bring something......then it's OK for you to bring it.
If you don't want to create any confusion....eat the cranberries when you get back home.

Kinda rude! When you are a guest at someone's home, if they invite you....
THEY SHOULD GO OUT OF THERE WAY TO HAVE THE THINGS THAT THEIR GUEST love and will enjoy! I know I do. If I know that someone is coming over that likes CORONA BEER, I make sure to stock up. That is a good host. If someone tells me to bring what I'm gonna eat...
I won't waste their time with my company. SCREW THEM!

Well if you are the only one that likes them, you might as well keep them for yourself and get something that other people might enjoy.
