If you don't brush, floss and use a "Christmas tree" brush (also called a proxy brush) you will get decalcification. This appears as white spots where your brackets were. So brush well, you'll be happier in the long run.

when i got my braces of 2 years ago they left little white marks where the braces used to be cuz i guess my teeth got a lil yelllow when i had them on. the day after i went back to the dentist and he gave me some stuff to whiten my teeth for like a month and they have been that way ever since!!
BTW ALWAYS WEAR YOUR RETAINER NO MATTER WHAT!!!!

slight, usually the dentist drills off the cement from the brackets

VERY GOOD BECAUSE THIS MEANS THAT ALL THROUGH THE NIGHT THERE WOULD BE SOME DE-CALCIFICATION LEADING TO WHITE SPOTS.
