Better get married before Jan 1, 2008. Dec 31st is the last day for your 2007 taxes as far as being married.

Better in what way? Trying to save a little tax would be a very poor reason to get married if you weren't planning to anyway.

If you were married by 12/31 and the two of you filed a joint return, your tax bill would very possibly be less than if you aren't married and file as single. It might turn out about the same - that depends on your total income, and his.

Only if you actually GET married. Since he has more than $3,400 in gross income you cannot claim him as a dependent. If you were married you could file a joint return but still would not claim him as a dependent. You may or may not save taxes if you are married -- but getting married to save a few $$$ in taxes is probably the worst possible reason to get married.
