I have a pair of AR S-50's which have a sensitivity of 91db each. How many watts per channel (x2) would be adequate enough to run me out of a 225 sq ft room. would 50 x 50 watts do the trick?

Hi. The AR S50 is rated at 20 watts RMS at 8 ohms.An Amplifier with a min. of 40 watts RMS per channel at 8 ohms would be fine. The speakers also have a power rating of 250 watts peak per channel, which is meaningless. It is always better to have an Amplifier with more watts than the speaker rating.Just don't turn it up too loud. Most speakers can handel more power than their rating. A lower powered Amplifier might run out of steam at high volume levels possibly damaging both the speaker and Amp.

my Event ASP8 (280W RMS) shake my neighborhood
anything around 200W RMS is fine.
if it is rated in Watts PMPO then look at a few thousand watts or even better,
don't buy it
