when really they do?

There are only two consistent stances when it comes to things that have zero evidence. Believe none or believe them all.

And I really can't argue with someone else choosing either stance. It's only truly illogical to be inconsistent.

I share your belief, but it is a primitive one. For instance the passage in the New Testament about Jesus restoring a man's sanity by exorcising him set a very bad precedent for the treatment of the insane in medieval Europe. Lunatics were beaten, whipped, starved, and burned at the stake. Similarly the idea that demons cause illness is also very primitive. Once medical science discovered microbes and formulated the germ theory, many millions of lives were saved, something that has never happened from prayer.

Because of personal experiences. If you read the New Testament, it validates the fact that "entities" exist which steer mankind through possession to go against God and all that is good, including one's health. These, of course are of the "spirit" world. Then you have the "demons" of "this" reality which steer mankind into a life of wrongful behaviors. E.G., alcoholism, drug addiction, mental illness, etc.

And your proof is?

In my religion there are no demons. They don't exist in many religions, actually.

You're right, they do exist. I see one every now and then on channel 7 news.......He calls himself George W. Bush. He said he used to get C's in school, yet still became president. Now if that's not demonic, I don't know what is.

Demons exist only in a figurative sense. They are not literal. If you're serious... OMG.

why do people (like you) think that demons exist?

Most people believe only what they can experiences with their natural senses. demons are spiritual therefore do not get detected by humans unless 'a door' has been opened in the life of an individual. I look forward to the day, when they will be destroyed, along with their evil influence on this planet!

wishful thinking...stupidity...acting like a small child who hides his face behind his hands and believes he can't be seen...poor training at church....inexperienced and doesn't recognize the signs of demonic interference...believes himself to be invulnerable to attack...probably more reasons these are the ones that come to my mind.
