I was born into and raised in a Christian family, but it wasn't until a couple of months ago that I really started to follow God, and live a life that is pleasing to God. So technically(since I think all true Christians need to follow a life that is PLEASING to God; no swearing, no using the Lord's name in vain, no premarital sex, possibly no dating) you could say that I didn't become a Christian until a couple months ago.

Part of what you say is absolutely right. Jesus Himself said that nobody could come to Him at all unless the Father draws the person first (John 6:44, paraphrased). A sobering thought: suppose the Father hadn't drawn me to Jesus?
But it would be important to at least consider the claims of Christ. Some people die quickly and have no time to repent of their sins. Years ago, someon said that some who plan to repent at the 11th hour, die at 10:30!"

there are many who think they are christians, only later to realize they werent saved, too. I have heard of this quite a lot from those who were raised in christian homes. the parents failed to talk to them about what constituted real salvation.
I have been saved for quite some time. since I was a teenager. Perhaps before that, like when I was 5 or 6. I just cant imagine being without the Lord.

Hey you made a great point !!!!! I didn't think I would ever change, because I was afraid of giving up too much fun. I was raised in church, Baptist. When I got older I started going to a different faith church and WOW, when it hit me I felt I'd lost 1000 pounds off my back. I was carrying a lot garbage on me and oh what a good feeling when it was removed. Just can't put it into words.

I always believed in God and Jesus ,although I didn't really understand exactly who Jesus was before the incarnation and how important His sacrifice was.Now I do.That's being born again. Then the Holy Spirit opened up my eyes and ears for understanding.

God Bless you and those who don't want God in their lives or don't believe enough to have Him in their lives. They are all living a dream, but one day they will open their eyes and say that, "God is real". And that day will be the day when they obtain true knowledge.

It happens the other way round too you know.
I'm a Christian, but I know people who were believers and became atheists or joined a different religion.

My father laughed at the things of God, and the bible, all his life. I prayed for him for ten years after I became a Christian. Four days before he died, at age 94, he repented of his sins and said "yes" to Jesus Christ.
Nothing is impossible for God, and as long as a person breathes, they will have an opportunity to be saved.
And for the person above who mocked salvation on their deathbed, don't be so sure you'll see death coming.

the Jesus MYTH is an insult to human intelligence... if there were less arrogance and he was labelled simply a messnger fine, but son of God, come on... i'd have to be incredibly insecure and downright stupid to believe it.
