Asatru Heathen

I explored my ethnic heritage (Celtic, Indian and Anglo-Saxon) and that's when I found Asatru and realized what deity had been trying to get my attention and I found a religion that fits my basic nature: family, friends, loyalty, courage, honor, freedom, etc.

I am Celtic Witch.
The more I have learned about it the more it matches what I already feel deep in my spirit/heart.
I had looked into other paths a bit. I was born into a Baptist/Christian home and for 30 some-odd years I tried to force myself into that mold. As a teen I saw parts of the pagan path but never had the strength to really try to walk it, going instead with the way I was "told" was right. When I really was able to research it, as well as the Hand-fasting my son's then girlfriend (now wife) wanted, in my late thirties I realized it was like "coming home"
Goddess chose me first I just embraced Her and Chose to accept Her.

Love and Blessings

I'm Eclectic. I learn all I can about as many religions as I can and then pick and choose parts from them that I like and merge them into a unique religion just for me. Pagan religions make up the majority of my Eclectic beliefs, but I also borrow from religions like Judaism and Hinduism.

Celtic Wiccan. My ancestors are Irish and Scottish, so I chose the path that honors the roots of my family tree, or rather - it chose me and I embraced it.

I pretty much lived a Pagan lifestyle all my life, growing up on a family farm and learning about agriculture, herbalism, caring for the Earth, plants and animals, community service (my family was big into volunteering and "giving back" for the gifts they received). My parents introduced me to various churches and religious systems growing up, but encouraged me to choose my own life's path. In my late teens I had met some Witches and was intrigued, so started to study Witchcraft, finding out that I already knew much of the "folk magik" of the Craft from my upbringing. A few years later, as I was trying to figure out where I fit into the grand scheme of things spiritually, I stumbled upon Wicca and found that the spirituality best fit my personal beliefs, sense of ethics, and values, and I was drawn to the Celtic path.

I have been a practicing Wiccan/Witch for 15 years now. However, I continue to study and learn about many world religions as I feel it is as important to understand different spiritual paths as it is my own.

Over the years I've worked with neoshamanism, generic neopaganism, and Chaos magic, all of which have had an influence on me. Currently I'm in the process of creating my own neoshamanic path as a way of formalizing over a decade's worth of experience and lessons. You can find out more info at http://therioshamanism.com

As to why I'm doing this, I've had the urge for about a year now to work within a more formal setting. Since there aren't any existing paths that really match my beliefs, and since I'm a self-directed solitary anyway, I decided to customize my own.

I am Wiccan.

I was Christian first, but as I matured into my teens I realized that Christianity really did not reflect my personal beliefs. I was born with all the memories of my past lives, so reincarnation is a fact for me. I have always naturally had occultic and psychic talents; astral projection was always one of my favorite "hobbies" even as a very young child. I sense and communicate with animals, trees, plants, and rocks - but Christianity said these things were "dead and without souls." I could not accept this. God to me is Nature itself, and I prayed to be led to a religion that reflected what I KNEW to be true, which is different from "believing." And in my faith in a God that is the Lifeforce of Nature I was led to Wicca...my mother's spirit guide told her to buy a book about Earth Magic for me. We were in Hawaii. I went to the beach, and KNEW this was me. Just that instantly. I was 16 at the time, 20 years ago. And still, the more I learn about Wicca, the more it feels right.

I haven't yet found the particular pagan religion that incorporates all of my beliefs. The closest would be shamanism or animism. So I just go with the flow and keep searching, maybe I'll start my own if I can't find the one that fits me perfectly.

I am not sure what to call it. I thought myself Wiccan but I married a Buddhist so now I am blended.

I chose this path because it felt right for me. The duality of the Goddess and the God felt the more natural way.

I follow a Celtic Reconstructionist path. The most important thing to me is developing a closer connection to my deities. My path is simply the best one that helps me to do that. Isn't that the basic reason why most people practice any religion?

I follow the path blazed by St. Francis and the Monks of Medmenham.
