THAT IS NOT TRYINg. i know school is harder for some people but he never goes in for help or does hw (it shows that on his grade reports) and he always complains im too busy to talk on the phone or hang out but REALLY im doing h.w. i hate it. i feel like i need someone who cares and someone who is smarter but I DO LOVE him. ive told him this bothers me before but he just says "U SOUND LIKE MY PARENTS! and i do try..." then ignores it. i cant stand it.. what should i do!? please help me

He doesnt WANT to do any better, because he doesnt REALIZE how important an education is.A high school diploma will get you into the military or college yes, but a good paying job NO, you HAVE to have a college degree. There is NO working your way up in a company when you're a grunt. If he just gets a H.S. diploma, he will work making barely above minimum wage the rest of his life more than likely so unless you want to live in trashed out 60's and 70's model mobile homes and drive junk the rest of your life, you might want to get a guy who has a little more vision about his future.
How do I know these things?
I quit school after 9th grade and have a G.E.D.
It is the people with degrees in BUSINESS (become a CEO and nothing less) who make the big bucks! While the trailer park trash who is working for you making you rich is living off a few bucks above minimum wage, you'll be making MILLIONS even if it bankrupts the idiot company who is paying you!

That's my boyfriend! I met him after HS though. I was all As and Bs and he barely graduated. I'm in college and he still hasn't gone (he's 25 and wants to find out what he wants to do first and blah blah blah). Once high school is over everything will change. If he doesn't even get a job or anything then he's probably not going to do too well in the future. Maybe he needs some time to figure out what he wants to do and whether that even involves furthering his education (which most likely it does!). Boys mature slower, remember that too. ;)

Good luck, if you love him then stick with him!

Oh snap, both those colleges are close to here...hmm...=)

You should love him for who he is...but he really should change. While most people would say "you chose him." That is not to say that he should continue what he is doing. I think sooner or later he will have to change, because college is harder, even if it is COD. See if you can find a way to let him understand how important it is to study and get good grades.

some people aren't as focused as others... he may just be immature and will have to grow up at his own pace..you can either endure it with him or you can choose to find someone else...he's just a kid
