Well, everyone's different.

Some people grew up in houses where they ate lots of unhealthy food and didn't exercise, so they were always the chubby kid - as they get older they continue to eat too much and not exercise... the weight just keeps piling on. And once you're 20lbs overweight, it's easy to justify eating a donut b/c it won't make much of a difference since you're already overweight... but the weight piles on even more...

I think the morbidly obese people have eating disorders where they are using food the way an alcoholic uses alcohol or a druggies uses drugs... they stuff their feelings with food.

I used to have no understanding of how people could be fat (I'm thin myself - and I used to be skinny) but then I had to take a medication called Prednisone, and suddenly I was starving all the time, no matter how much I ate. I kept eating and I gained 20 lbs in one month... I got a lot of newfound understanding after that.

Why do ignorant people enable themselves get THAT ignorant? Why do not they only coach themselves with a three hundred and sixty 5 days or 2's nicely worth of practise in some days extremely of posting ridiculous questions approximately Yahoo solutions? ;) weight problems is much better than some fat guy being grasping and ingesting yet another bag of potato chips. there is maximum of emotional and psychological issues that tie in with this affliction. that is in basic terms like having anorexia, or being a intercourse addict, or an alcoholic, or maybe having a social affliction. those people won't be able to easily turn their lives around interior of a few weeks or months. those issues can take extremely a lengthy time to recover from.

A lot of time it is emotional issues. Sometimes when a child is berated by their parents it destroys their self-esteem, and they eat for comfort, and then kids at school tease them mercilessly, which causes them to eat even more for comfort. The more they eat the bigger their stomach gets and the more they need to eat in order to feel like they have eaten enough. There are also medical issues that can cause weight gain. Have you ever seen the really obese babies? Those kids do not get their own food. That is a complete medical issue there. Instead of making fun of them have some sympathy. Most of the time they can't help it. One of my friends was severely obese because of being molested by men in her family from a young age, and then was involved in abusive relationships. After years of therapy and weight loss surgery she has finally conquered most of her demons.

It's just like an addiction for some. You say every monday you're on a diet, but when you fail, you wait til the next monday. If it happens for months or even years, you feel ashamed and stuck and depressed and that's a hard cycle to get out of...but very possible.
