You can find as many answers on this question as people. The truth is no one knows what "global warming" is or how it will affect the planet. What is true, is that our planet has been much hotter and much colder than it is now, and it will be much hotter and much colder again.

This is done to create more panic and to get people to act without thinking.

Same tactic commercials use when they say "Hurry -Only 10 minutes left!"

It's winter, the arctic ice is growing back as it does every winter only to melt like it does every summer.

The reason for the panic is that the melting of the polar ice isn't caused by global warming, but natural trends.

If you buy into the scam that the ice is melting, then politicians can say they cured the problem even though the change was natural. In other words, you bought a bill of goods that would have happened anyway.

What interests me the most is the ignorance prevalent in society. How is it that after more than 100 years of pumping poison into our air, water and soils we are just now beginning to realize that it had an effect on the climate of our wonderful space-rock. What perterbs me is that Just recently it has become a "fad" to become Green, it now makes good business sense to provide recycled products, fuel efficient and low emission vehicles and produce TV programs that claim to have an environmentally friendly agenda. What angers me, is the fact that we had more than enough time and resources to subvert the damaging nature of our living on this planet. It wasnt popular and people weren't buying it, so why make the effort? 20 years ago, you were lucky to find a single company within a major metropolitan area that provided recycling services, at a cost to you. The damages have been done, 100 plus years of industrialization doesnt disappear in the time it takes for a "fad" to run its course. Im not suprised at the news of globally catastrophic weather patterns, the events will continue, despite our best efforts. The only reasons we do this now are because it has become a financial gold mine to provide consumers with "environmentally friendly products" and it would be politically incorrect to not fall onto the bandwagon.
Congratulations humans.

Try not believeing everything they tell you, and just live your life. An interesting thing I heard recently is that we would have to explode in excess of 100 million nuclear bombs to feel any effects of "nuclear winter". With that said, I don't think we could possibly be the cause of global warming, so just drive your car, use electricity, and don't worry about it.

Yeah it's scary - global warming is happening faster than the experts predicted.

"Just last year two top scientists surprised their colleagues by projecting that the Arctic sea ice was melting so rapidly that it could disappear entirely by the summer of 2040.

This week, after reviewing his own new data, NASA climate scientist Jay Zwally said: "At this rate, the Arctic Ocean could be nearly ice-free at the end of summer by 2012, much faster than previous predictions."

It amazes me that these scientists are called "alarmists" when evidence like this proves that their predictions are actually too conservative.

We need to do something about global warming before it's too late.

"The Arctic is often cited as the canary in the coal mine for climate warming," said Zwally, who as a teenager hauled coal. "Now as a sign of climate warming, the canary has died. It is time to start getting out of the coal mines."

Then the northwest passage will be open sooner than we thought. That's a good thing.
