Not normally. Are you planning on eating it?

If you seal it and keep it clean, it should make a good counter top surface. We've had it in our kitchen for 10 years without problems.

no it's not even toxic when it's wet, although I know it doesn't taste good. Grout is mostly portland cement and sand, with some pigment. I imagine if you ate a 25 pound bag of it you may get sick, but otherwise, nothing to worry about.
