once saved always save?
Once you are saved, then you are always truely saved. Here is a link to the proof of this doctrine: http://www.allaboutgod.com/once-saved-always-saved.htm

I John 1-5 was written so you can know for sure that you are a Christian.

Please read the bible for yourself and examine yourself with what the Bible says. Once you are truely saved you will know for yourself. The Holy spirit was given to us as a garentee that we are truely saved. Once you are truly saved you can not lose salvation. If you think you can lose salvation then you also believe you can earn it. Salvation is a gift! Email me if you have any question or would like to know how to become a child of God!

Yes the Bible does tell us about the blessings of assurance of our salvation. Absolutely, He doesnt want us wondering about it all the time and that being our focus But the once saved always saved is still wrong. God doesnt sit up in Heaven eager to cast us out. He is a loving, patient, forgiving, longsuffering God. Absolutely. But in scripture we are told how the gift of salvation is free, but holding on to that gift has conditions. IF YOU LOVE ME< OBEY ME, and such. Much more than just one. And then the Bible tells us of the devil and all the ways HE will try and stea our free prize from us. God says HOLD ON SO AS NOT TO LOSE IT. WEll, if its possible to lose it, He wouldnt say HOLD ON NOT TO LOSE IT> amen God isnt up there turning His back on His ppl. Never. We are in covenenat with Him once born again.
But tho God isnt in there breaking covenant with us over every little wrong, we can still break covenant with God and walk away and be lost, by refusing to live as God says and putting our full love, faith and trust in HIm. IF someone deceides they love the world more than God, they may walk away frM God , and God gives ppl that free precious choice to believe in Him and obey Him. Noone is forced.
When one learns to enjoy sin, they will love it and hate the things of God. ITs all thru the Bible, this teaching. Not just my words, but Gods words. and just becuase someone say sthey are born again, doesnt mean they are. God says by their FRUITS, actions, we wil know them. If they arent thinking and living and acting like Jesus, they are NOT born again. In 1 John 3:9 we are told that those born of God will not walk in continued deliberate sin, becuase we have the mind of Christ, and we will hate sin as much as God does.
I do not believe in any way can we earn salvation Absoutely not, that is legalism and it is a lie. But, God said if we love Him, we will obey and live as He calls us to live. So, if we wont obey God and turn from sin, we arent really Gods, we just wear a label, that is false. God knows the heart. WE cant fool God. God also says faith without works is dead.
The works wont save you, but not having any works will cause you to be lost, beause if you love God , you will want to obey Him and serve Him, from LOVE, not to just miss out on hell.
Obedience stil leads to blessing, but obeying does not earn your way into heaven. Only by the blood of Jesus can we be saved, and can we receive of the Holy Spirit to overcome all sin. PPl will say it cant be done, Hogwash. Then why would God command it. IF we live liek Jesus, we will obey into perfection and sacrifice, just as He did, and along the way in the process of santification, God will love us and hold us tightly till we arrive. But, we must be on that narrow way to Heaven, and loving it and wanting only more of God.
If you love the wide gate that leads to hell, thats where you will go, and God will try to speak to you, but again, its still all choice.
The only way I think I coud ever say a once saved, always saved message is from how God sees it. So when someone is truly born again, He knows it and they will stay saved.
God knows those that speak the words, but dont live by them. so HE always knows the real from the fake. So when somene claiming to be born again, but truly is not, suddenly ends up lost, God can say THEY NEVER KNEW ME TO BEGIN WITH.. So if you look at it like that, then I could possibly agree with you. IS this your message:??????
I always agree with you on everything, but I have noticed on this one thing we differ, and would love to hear more from you about this. ok.
God knows the heart, so He will always know those that are truly His. Even tho others may fool other ppl, noone fools God.
Again, you make ppl think...

The elect of God are predestined to be created into the image of God. The salvation concept is positively written within the Bible however the problem comes in with application of such, using the interruptions of men. Who becomes the saved? Why? What justifies the self righteousness of so many when division is all that is really shared?

I believe once saved, always saved, if truly saved. Salvation is a gift, we are saved by grace through faith, not of works, lest any man should boast. We are also saved FOR good works. The works do not save us, but works will be the result of true salvation.

Now what exactly do you mean by "join together the doctrine of assurance and the doctrine of once saved always save?" I just told you that I believe once saved always saved (if truly saved), but what exactly do you mean by assurance?

I agree with this web site. Because you can't find a scripture to contradict it.

And I claim these scriptures. There is now, no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit for those in Christ Jesus has set us free from the law of sin & death.

The idea that you can lose something stems from believing one earned something.

This is one of my fears for those who are caught up in legalistic religions that salvation (eternal life) is attained by faith & works. I agree that faith & works saves us right now from conscequences of wrong decisions & saves us rewards eternally. But we have eternal life through the spiritual birth the moment we are born of God, Gods way. It's a moment in time, its a birth.
My 3rd Grandbaby is possibly being born December17, 2007. Does she earn being born into this world? Can she change the fact that she is born a little baby girl? The first person is born physical. And the 2nd person is born spiritual.

Blessed assurance, Jesus us mine. Oh what a foretaste of Glory Divine. Heir of Salvation, purchase of God. Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood. Perfect submission, perfect delight, Vision sof rapture now burst on my sight; Angels descending bring from above Echos of mercy, whispers of love. Perfect submission, all is at rest. I in my Savior am happy and blest, Watching & waiting, looking above. Filled with HIs goodnesss, lost in His love. This is my story, this is my song. Praising my Savior, all the day long.

Blessed assurance & having assurance we are God's children go hand in hand.

The concept you are talking about (also known as Perseverance of the Saints) arose more from the followers of Calvin than from early Church teachings.

It's a little hard to have unquestioned belief in this and seriously consider Jesus's teaching in Matthew 13: 20-21. And I’m not taking anything out of context, either.

Edit: 12/13/07
I received the following direct reply from this guy:
"Message: You haven't even read the bible have you???
This is stated in "Mathew 24-36" I have based my question out of literature and you have based your answer out of ignorance. It is you that needs to "try a little harder if you're going to play this sort of game."

But since he doesn't permit direct e-mails, I have to answer him here:

My friend, you based your question on a person's opinion (what you call literature). My answer tried to refer you to God's Word, which I have been reading for almost 50 years, since I accepted Christ. But I am also an educated man and you are obviously a child, who needs to open his mind and base your understanding on prayer and STUDY, not on the words of others. If you have an explanation for this passage containing Jesus' teaching viz-z-viz Calvin's beliefs (and not even HIS direct teaching, but a response to one of his opponents - try doing a simple Google search on the words Calvin and TULIP, and see what you might learn) then please provide it. Otherwise, doctor, heal thyself.

So I say again, get your facts straight before you try to argue Christian teachings. As Alexander Pope suggested: "A little learning is a dangerous thing; drink deep, or taste not the Pierian spring: there shallow draughts intoxicate the brain, and drinking largely sobers us again."

I am a Jehovah's Witness and this query displeases me. If I belonged to yet another faith I would not wish to consider of myself as a "professed Christian" In my brain, I might be a real Christian and who is aware of precisely what God has judged me as? I might simply be within the incorrect location on the second. How might you suppose when you lived within the subject that Warren Jeffs, the cult chief oversaw. You possibly upset with a few matters even and now not know the way to break out from there. What when you met anybody and so they referred to as you a cult member whilst all you're is a character trapped in a cult. When we move door to door we do not say: "You are not a Christian" or "Your faith is a scorching mess." Revelation says "Get out of her, my folks if you don't wish to percentage in her sins." God calls them "his folks" although they won't detect a few matters but. You are correct approximately the doctrines of Hellfire and the others being incorrect. But folks have heard that they're real their complete existence and it is not convenient to difference. They keep the ones teachings expensive and do not wish to listen to them referred to as a "scorching mess" or be referred to as "counterfeit Christians." Edit-Only one thumbs up and a thumb down for coming to the protection of folks and soliciting for kindness. What is that approximately?

If you would not mind contrasting for us your view of assurance vs. eternal security. It will make the point of your question more clear.

Actually if we are to read the Bible we are to know that God's love of our world killed a whole lot of people many times. Makes genocide look like a children's game.

Brother: what you say is exactly right and all that I can say is to the other readers. Please listen to what he is saying because it is truth. The reason he takes time to write this is because he has a concern for your soul. Listen to what he says!
