I got out in 2006 honorably discharged, two tours in Iraq. No scratches on me whatsoever (maybe a few) but nothing is wrong with me. I have a friend who says I still can get medical insurance and coverage through the VA. Whats the truth, cause when I got out the NCO's told me i was caught off?

I believe you'll still be entitled when you need it, but you may have to get it from a veteran's facility. Check it out further. Thank you for serving & congratulations on getting back without a scratch!

You can make an application for receiving health care through the VA. But, by your own admission, you have no service-connected disabilities. That means you are way down on the list of who gets care first. In addition, if you earn too much money you are automatically considered to be Category 8 and the VA won't treat you.
The only "health insurance" offered by the VA is for the surviving spouse and children of personnel who died on active duty.

I would suggest checking the VA website, or contacting them directly.
