Yes it is very bad, it ruins your teeth, makes people fat. Most people dont realize it, but you can get diabetes from drinking too much. You should just drink regular plain old water, i guess sometimes when u drink it, like once in a while its ok but every single day is very bad for ur health
Bandit... diet is bad too, too much of anything is bad, and i know diet may seem good and not bad, but in reality it is bad, and i know it for a fact.

I asked the same question of my dad quite a number of years ago. He demonstrated the difference and the results still are crystal clear in my mind. He took two glasses, filled one with coke and the other with 7-up. Then he took two pieces of identical cheese and put one in each glass. The next morning, the cheese in the coke was gone, but the cheese in the 7-up was still the same. Not believing this could really happen, he took two fresh glasses of coke and 7-up and put a nail in each one. The next morning, the nail in the coke was pitted and rusted. The one in the 7-up only had a little rust on it. He then asked me if I knew what my stomach would look like if I drank a lot of coke. After seeing what the beverage did to the cheese and nail, I never drank coke again. Switched to Pepsi. :-)
I do know that any soda will cause you to gain weight. To prove that to myself, I stopped drinking all soda for a month but didn't change my diet, my eating habits or my workout habits in any way. After a month, I had lost 10 pounds.
Any sugared product remains in your body as stored energy and is also converted into fat. If you add a fat along with a sugar, you get a double whammy (one of the reasons ice cream is so fattening). However, bad skin is not just from your diet -- heredity plays a large part as well as how clean you keep your skin. Growing up I had many pimples on my face, neck and shoulders until I started cleaning my skin 4 or 5 times a day with a skin cleanser. I also watched what I ate, eliminating most fats and sugars that I had been consuming in large quantities. Within a month, my skin looked so much better and within 6 months, it was almost clear. But please remember that your age also has a lot to do with your skin as your pre-teen and teen years are the time of massive hormone changes which also trigger outbreaks on your skin. And, when you get older, some women get outbreaks on their skin during their monthly cycle.
I guess what this all is amounting to is, use your own best judgment about what you put into your body. If I had known that I would live as long as I have, I would most definitely have taken much better care of my body. Growing up during a time when everyone smoked, drank and took drugs may have been exciting while it happened, but looking back, that time could have been used more effectively -- like building up my retirement nest egg so I can travel wherever I want without worrying about paying the bill afterwards!

Aspartame Neurotoxic: Coca Cola, Pepsi, Nutra Sweet Sued in California
Categories
Health
The artificial sweetener aspartame, originally made and forced on the market by Monsanto Corp., is a neurotoxin and is damaging people's health, allege three separate lawsuits filed in different counties in California. Defendants in the lawsuits include Coca-cola, PepsiCo, Bayer Corp., the Dannon Company, William Wrigley Jr. Company, ConAgra Foods, Wyeth, Inc., The NutraSweet Company, and Altria Corp. (parent company of Kraft Foods and Philip Morris) and WalMart.
An unexplained epidemic of sudden cardiac death in the US may be due to the widespread use of the sweetener in "light" soft drinks, yogurts, chewing gums and bakery wares for diabetics. The FDA has blamed ephedra, a herb, for the deaths of several sports celebrities, that may in fact be aspartame related.
The National Justice League made the announcement on 6 April 2004.

Well, I drink Diet Coke Vanilla 0 and the real sugary kind is very fattening. When I was a kid, the teachers said if you put one of your baby teeth in a bottle (glass, back then) it would dissolve in a week. It's basically like drinking liquid sugar. Not sure about the skin.

Although I drink coke and Dr. Pepper once in awhile I must admit that it is bad for you. The sugar that these drinks contain is not only fattening but it is also no good for you if you have a family history of diabetes. Furthermore, who knows what other ingredients go into these drinks? Coloring? Taste? Keeping them from spoiling. Drink cold water instead.

Regular pop is full of sugar and carbs... yes its bad for your teeth and makes you gain weight. Diet pop... is full of processed chemicals.. still no good for you. My Dr told me its better to have REGULAR pop once or twice a week(that's a can not a 2 liter) then to drink diet anything. So Drink water, flavored water, milk, small amounts of juice(fructose is still sugar). Pop now and then is OK.. just not everyday. And as far as acne... that is a skin issue that isn't connected to pop..per my dermatologist.

Yes. We did the experiment of putting my sons baby tooth in a glass of coca cola and watched it rot. Bad for your teeth and over all health---but a glass once in a while won't kill you.

Yes, it is true that soda is bad for you: There's sugar, and caffine, which is bad for your body.
But, there ARE some soda's that are MUCH better for you. The best soda, not just by my reccomendation, but the healthiest, good tasting one, is COKE PLUS. It has the great taste of coke [or diet coke] with TONS of vitamins added. Try it for yourself.
{and if you get to like it and buy tons, or any coke product, log on to mycokerewards, and you can get free stuff for buying coke!}

Like liquid sugar, with caffeine, and carbonation makes it acid. I think the aspartame kind is actually probably better.
Some (http://dadamo.com) think corn syrup is even worse than sugar, because it contains "lectins" which react with the blood of most people.
I never drink the stuff myself.
