It can seem that way.
See, the Only Thing that can Seperate you (a Spirit---First Mind) and your Soul (Spiritual Super-Computer) WITH OUT Damage is---The Word of GOD.
Some People Seperate them without GOD and get into a Whole Lot of Trouble---of which some do not "Come Back" (not talking bout' death here).
The Word of GOD is Sharper than a Two-Edged Sword, DIVIDING Asunder the Soul and Spirit (you) so on so on...
See?
Probably not.
This Stuff is Trickey cause you Really Don't UnderStand that you have Two Minds.
You and Ole' "A I" (artificial intelligence---soul)
Really, I wouln'd mess with this Unless you have been Saved (Born-Again) and Filled with The Holy Spirit.
If it Hadn't a been for The Holy Spirit, I would Still be Lost in Those "Minds" (me and my soul).
Thanky Jesus!!!
(had a friend who got Lost using Drugs (LSD), haven't seen him since)

The soul is pretty much the mind. Not the brain but your consciousness. Your emotions and your thoughts and how you choose things.

A soul is our true selves, we are energy (the soul) that occupies our body like a host, when the body dies the soul leaves the body!

Our soul is merely the "breath of life" that has been "breathed" into us. I was given the example of when you plug an electric appliance into the wall...that electricity going through it is what gives it its "life". So, when it is unplugged, there is nothing happening there...just like with us, upon death there is no more soul. (the Bible tells us that the dead are conscious of nothing, which tells us our soul does not travel or go elsewhere upon death).
