Which heal easier? I was told that black tattoos take longer to heal than color tattoos because its harder for the skin to accept the ink. Is this true? Which do you perfer colored or black and gray tattoos?

that doesn't make any sense to me, i don't think the skin differentiates between ink colors unless the skin is allergic to the ink.
i prefer color tattoos to black and grey but ALWAYS prefer a great artistic tattoo no matter what type of shading and color is used.
the artists talent is the most important thing to consider when getting a tattoo color is definitely less important.

My artist said that neither take any longer to heal than your body takes. He did say that solid black is harder to tattoo because if one spot is off it will look gray rather than black. I have a black outline and a black and colored tattoo as well. The one with color and black healed faster than the outline because of the area despite having more to it. I like both, which ever suites the specific tattoo best and what each individual wants.

For me color takes longer to heal. It really depends on the size and how much detail is put into it. I have tats that have taken 2 and half weeks (color) and 1 that took 5 days (black). For me and pretty much everyone I know red takes the longest to heal. Don't know why. If you get a large detailed tat with color expect it take a while to heal but if its small and black, it will heal in about a week. Good Luck!

They all heal so don't worry about it. What is the most important thing for you to think about it how it pleases you visually. I have 7, they are all colored and they are great. Though the two I got way back in 1959 are faded the others I got in 1988 have still retained their colors.

It's not weird at all. I saw a black and grey with hints of red in it the other day but can't remember for the life of me where I saw it. It looked good though. Best of luck!

not all tattoos take a long time to heal. my fingers took a week, my legs took a few days, etc.... placement determines how long it will take to heal, not to mention care. keep it moist with fragrance free lotion like vasoline intensive care.

To answer the color vs. black/grey.....I like both......
