These are the words of a man deeply in pain who also appears to love you .I don't know what you mean by" faking this" though he seems to be very dramatic in expressing his feelings for you.You did not indicate how long you guys dated steady or why you broke up though it seems you ended it.It also appears from his letter to you that he does not know or understand why you decided to end it.While the answers to the questions I posed above will have helped, I suspect the letter is real and factual, and the guy is just hurting from not only losing you as a girlfriend but also as a friend. If possible try to explain why you ended it and see if you guys can still remain friends.When a romance finishes, it does not mean that the friendship should also finish. We can never have too many friends.Think about it.

He is hurting for you.He must really long for you to write this to you.Do you feel the same for him? If not, does he know that?I am in the same place with my ex now,so I understand where he is comming from.When you love somebody that much,you just KNOW you must be with them.I would prolly choose death right now if I thought it would bring her back,but that is stupid cuz if I'm dead,how could I be with her.The pain sux,but if he loves you that much,you have to let him know if you don't feel the same.Don't drag it out,or tell him you feel something you don't.It will only drive him to insanity.

If its for sex...YES!
If no sex was involved I am curious as to WHY you broke up.
However going with someone just so they dont feel bad and you dont feel guilty is a MISERABLE existence.
Your going to have to decide if why you broke up was a good reason or not and either stick with it or apologize.

The guy sounds suicidal and a little obsessed.Not sure if it's fake because I don't know him, but if you are leaving him (which is what it sounds like) keep going!

He is being sincere and puring out his heart to you. Like he asked, if you love him contact him, even if you don't then you still ought to contact him and tell him why you decided to break it off, help him to understand, but be gentle and honest.

Why would he be faking? I'm not saying he couldn't be, but given what evidence we have here it doesn't seem to be insincere.

I guess it depends on alot of things one main one how long were you dating? Do you trust him?
