This same thing happened to me about a year ago and I got myself into hot water! He ended up breaking up with her for me and it turned into a huge mess. It's still a sore situation between us, but we're for sure better friends now. My advice to you is do what's right, don't hurt your friend and tell the guy that you're not interested in him (even if you are). This is what makes a great friend, the ability to turn down even the cutest guys to make a friendship work. Your best girlfriends will last forever, when guys will come and go. Also if he is doing this to your friend, chances are he will do it to you too. Be smart and don't trick this guy into thinking that he can just tell his girlfriend's best friend that he likes her and get away with it. I know this type and you really don't want to create another guy like that. I know it's a hard thing to turn down (a cute guy who likes you!), but think of the consequences before you tell him you like him too and ruin your relationship with your friend!

You have to be honest with your friend and tell her. Rember that friends will be around a lot longer than most relationships. If he would go behind her back and say that to you he would likely do that to you if he met someone else he thought might be bettter. Guys like that generally are players. Your best friend may not like to hear what he said but I'm sure she'll be happier if you just flat out tell her.

Say nothing to her. But tell him, "I'm flattered that you like me, but I don't date other girls' boyfriends. If you aren't really into her, that's something only you two can work out. You should be happy with the person you are with. Good luck. She's my friend, so I know she's a good person. I think she'll understand whatever you have to say."
If he breaks up with her and you want him, then you can date him. But letting him cheat is unfair to her......and to *you*. Think about it. If a guy is too chicken to break up with a girl he doensn't even want to be with, that's the same as him telling you, "You're not worth the trouble."

O.K if she is is your true best friend.?? Best friends are like sisters or brothers . You don't betray them. Now as far as the looser who said that to you !. Take the hint he knows she is your best friend and look how he is treating her. What makes you think when someone else comes along he won't do that to you if you accept him???
