I have a little brother who is about to turn 2 and LOVES Spongebob. But they sometimes say stuff on there I don't really want him saying. And since he always copies them like a little parrot.

Thanks!

My two year old daughter absolutely loves Spongebob. She tries to repeat some of what they say but not too much and it doesn't bother me since they don't really use bad language on the show. They said things like barnacle instead. The harshest word I've heard on the show is jerk. Which to me still isn't that bad. It's not the educational programming I would prefer her to watch but she loves it and it helps when I can put it on to distract her so I can do some laundry, cook or clean a little. She recently started watching some Dora the Explorer which I prefer since I think it teaches her more than Spongebob.

I wouldn't worry too much. There is a lot worse out there then SpongeBob. For instance, the news, cartoon network, etc. Dora *shudders*, just kidding! However, if your parents feel they don't want him to watch it then they shouldn't allow him to watch it. They are in control of what he watches and should decide what is and isn't appropriate for him. He is only two (or almost two) and SpongeBob is rated Y-7 (ages 7 and up). Good luck!

My daughter is 2 1/2 and loves to watch Spongebob. She's never repeated him (words or actions) thank goodness. I don't know why she likes it but I've had no problems. Good luck!

it's ur choice. u can watch the show with him and just tell him to not act like them and everything. i like the show and everything, but theres some parts that are a little too inappropriate for kids. it would be more appropriate for 9 year olds since they're hitting 4th grade and on the verge of having puberty. but u can either let him or not let him watch it.

I don't think its negative but I know its recommended for children over 7. If you feel there are some bad things Sponge bob says then don't have him watch those episodes. My daughter just turned 3 and she really doesn't copy anything or I haven't seen anything negative on that show.

i don't see anything wrong with it. it doesn't have any violence or bad language or anything. some episodes have a positive message as well.
