To get to their website, you have to spell it right....here is the link. It answers all your questions. For spelling purposes, please note that it is "Corps" not "corp".

Yeah, check out the website. I've looked at it extensively. Also, there should be an Peace Corps office located near you. You can call their office and request an informational packet or make an appointment to speak with a representative. They assure you that you'll be in a safe area. The commitment time is 27-months minimum with 3-months of training. Upon successful completion of your assignment, you will be given $5,000 stipend to help you transition back into civilian life. As for payment, your room and board are covered. Last but not least, you will benefit greatly from the educational and life experiences by volunteering through Peace Corps.

You're posting this in the wrong place. The Peace Corps (not Corp.) has nothing to do with military questions.

The PeaceCorps requires people who are very emotionally stable, who have expertise in a particular area that is needed in the developing world, and who have *excellent* references. Most people who apply to be a Peacecorps volunteer are NOT accepted. It's a highly competitive process. Most of the questions you asked are available on the PeaceCorps web site: you do get a stipend, you do receive certain benefits, you need to be ready to commit for up to two years, etc.

To position yourself for work overseas, through the PeaceCorps or any other organization, see http://www.coyotecommunications.com/volunteer/international.html

A word of advice, based on your previous posts here: when you post for help on YahooAnswers or send emails, be sure your subject lines reflect someone who is smart, collected and responsible -- not someone who is desperate (no all caps, no exclamation points, no "please help"). Your subject line should be clear ("Information on the Peace Corps Needed", for instance). Otherwise, you are going to scare people away and organizations aren't going to want to involve you.
