Personal Code Of Honor

2016-12-16 15:05:54 · answer #2 · answered by ? 4 · 0 0

My code of honor is (great mom). I just try to be the best mom I can be. It makes me proud. I may not have a great education, I'm not rich. But every day that passes I feel the most wealth yest mom around. I have three kids. Well I say kids, but the oldest one is 22 the second is 21, and the baby is 19. I am very proud of them. At this age who knows what trouble they could be getting into. They respect me and their dad, they attend coll edge and they have their jobs. I know I did not do all the things I wanted to do in my life, and some other things I'm not too proud of. But I did something great bringing up my kids. They go to church every Sunday and to some bible study on Wednesday nights. I am a good mom, and that is my code of honor. Maybe someone will not see it like I do, but I don't mind what others think, It is what I feel what matters.. Their father is a wonderful father and has that honor code too. Mind you, I don't go to church. But I used to, I make sure they met God at a very young age. They love it.

Yes I do. I have always idealized the code of chivalry, and believe that you should say what you mean, mean what you say, say nothing you do not firmly believe in or know to be true, and to stay silent if you have nothing positive to add to a situation. To seek truth above all else, and not to engage in falsehood. To honor committments and vows until they are fulfilled, you are released, or you die in the pursuit of their fulfillment. Strength, loyalty, honor, charity, virtue, faith. A king once asked which of these knightly tenets was the most important, to wich question a very wise man replied, "Truth. That must be it. For when a man lies he murders some part of the world."

I do indeed, and it has been getting me into trouble all my life, yet I cling to it and refuse to change my ways.
The best way to describe it is probably the Japanese "no loss of face" mentality:
Whatever I do, I do my utmost to make sure nobody loses face, especially not the other party (I don't care about myself).
When dealing with some real idiots, this may entail leveling with them to the point where they think I am the idiot, and they are great.
The effect is that everybody likes me, with the exception of those who believe I'm a closet idiot, causing the non-idiots of the world to get weary of me.
I don't know how to get out of that.

Yes i do Kallan~ i try to live my life the best i can and treat everyone with the utmost respect. I never say no to a friend in need and never think myself any better than the next person. This is where a lot of the problems in the world stem from~ people thinking they are better than their friends and neighbours and shutting them out or putting them down~ its like a river~ it keeps on flowing~ whatever we do has consequences for the next person down the river. and ultimatley that river comes back to you and you have to deal with the carless way you treat people. I mean who are we to judge others? Yet people do this every day and think nothing of it. Its a very sad thing.

Yes. I believe in honesty, courage, compassion, patience, persistence, reason, lots of good things. My own personal spin on it is shaped by the fact that I was a philosophy major in college and specialized in ethics. I am also a member of the Ethical Society of St. Louis, and take good ethical judgment very seriously.

This is not to say that I never screw up, of course. But I do try, I really do.

Yes

Do my actions cause dishonor to myself, my family, my religion?

Do my actions harm anyone, including self and the earth?

If you hit me or mine, I'll probably hit you back.

Pretty much the virtues cover what I strive for: Freedom, Tolerance, Boldness/Courage, Self Rule, Moderation, Steadfastness, Generosity, Truth, Hospitality, Justice, Family Responsibility/ Community, Honor, Industriousness, Strength, Loyalty, Self Reliance, Wisdom

I do, yes.

Funny you should ask today.

I am meeting a man for dinner that I met here on the computer. He is in the army and stationed in Europe but here in San Antonio for conference.

We have been talking for a few months now and as my luck would have it, he is married, "Just for the kids". Anyway, I made it very clear that I am not going to sleep with a married man.

I consider this as just a platonic dinner.

I don't believe in back stabbing or lying. What you see is what you get.
