It's not so much that people aren't saying "Merry Christmas". I'm not offended if someone says Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays. What bothers a lot of conservative is when people tell us we can't say Merry Christmas. Remember, this war on Christmas stuff started when managers at Walmart (or it may have been Target - I don't remember which) wouldn't let their greeters say "Merry Christmas" because it was offensive to those that aren't Christian. I remember I was very angry about it. It fizzled out after a while because stores like Walmart stopped enforcing the "don't say Merry Christmas" rule. I just got over it. But I recently got fired up about it again because I realize that while we are all sensitve about hurting the feelings of those who are Muslim, it's to Hell with the Christians. When are we going to stop preaching about religious tolerance and actually BE tolerant of all religions (sans extremists who kill)? Oh, I see. We can't offend the customer but we can offend the employee in which you warn them not to say "Christmas". Of course, I will continue to refuse to shop at those places in which managers tell their employees not to say "Merry Christmas". Store owners may have a right to tell their employees not to say the dreaded C-word - just like I have to right to not shop at their establishment. It's just too bad that the employees are stuck in the middle and have to decide if they want to keep a job that prevents them from being openly Christian.
