why did the show dark angel end after only 2 seasons and was there a dark angel movie when the show ended?

becuase i didnt like the way the show ended all they told us about max was that she could stop those super breeding people(agent white) but they didnt say how or what was so different about her and not the other transgentics.

The usual suspect bad ratings (the show,after the inital hype steadily dropped like a rock)...to my knowledge,there was a proposed TV movie to wrap up loose ends but nothing became of it.
