These writers wrote lies and half truths and then died for these lies? I think not!
The OT has changed over the years. Scribes were meticulous in writing and transcribing the scriptures. At the end of each page they checked their writings by ascribing a value to each letter then adding the value of that page. If it did not tally to the known value of the copied page - start again. Days of work wasted. Not likely to change.
Jews not recognise Jesus as Messiah. True because they don't see all the prophecies fulfilled, only some so they say "all must be fulfilled or we won't accept Him. I commend them for their adherence to the word of G-d. However, we Christians see there are two advents of the Messiah in which these prophecies can be fulfilled, not just one. Some scriptures that we Christians ascribe to Jesus the Jews ascribe to their nation. One such example is Is 53.
The odds show that Jesus is G-d. The OT is divinely inspired and every word of the book can be trusted.

The other possibility is that when accounts of Jesus' life were written (especially by Matthew) the story was deliberately constructed in such a way as to reference older scriptures familiar to Jewish readers.
Matthew is not just simply an historical or biographical account: it has the explicit intention of presenting Jesus as the long awaited Messiah, and does so by referencing the older texts.
Nor is it an "independent eye witness account". It is sourced from earlier texts and traditions, particularly Mark and the Septuagint translation of the Old Testament, and includes many stories that could not possibly have been all witnessed by one person, even if you suspend disbelief about whether they actually happened.
The "wow" factor disappears when you realise that the Gospels were written by people very familiar with the prophetic tradition, and who wrote their accounts accordingly.

the probabilities ire not calculate able with the info you gave, but the fact that The Christs appearing was prophesied 700 years before His Birth is to me just as amazing.
Especially when the things He did while on the earth in the flesh were so vastly amazing and wrought about so widely as they were. 75% of the weightings of Jesus time were about Him and His doings compaired to 10% of the History written were about the leaders of the time and 15% about the coulture of the time.
Edit:
the % used are only close aproximations.

They weren't all filled. That's why the Jews don't believe Christians' claims.
Not to mention the prophecies could have been made to come true with some artistic license of the authors of the gospels. Nobody could say they were wrong when they wrote the books 30+ years after the guy died.

Considering that Jesus was a rabbi and knew those prophecies quite well, it's not all that improbable. As well as the FACT that the bible has been altered over time including the OT.
