Actually, the Bible specifies no date for Jesus’ birth, and there is no record that Jesus himself spoke of it, much less directed that it be celebrated. However, the Bible does help us to determine the time of year when Jesus was born.
According to Matthew’s Gospel, chapters 26 and 27, Jesus was executed on Nisan 14, late in the day of the Jewish Passover that had begun on March 31, 33 C.E. We learn from Luke’s Gospel that Jesus was about 30 years old when he was baptized and began his ministry. (Luke 3:21-23) That ministry lasted three and a half years. Therefore, Jesus was about 33 1/2 years old when he died. He would have turned 34 about October 1, 33 C.E. Luke reports that at the time of Jesus’ birth, shepherds were “living out of doors and keeping watches in the night over their flocks.” (Luke 2:8) Shepherds would not have been out with their flocks in the cold of December, when it may even snow in the vicinity of Bethlehem. But they could have been there with their flocks about October 1, which according to the evidence is when Jesus was born.

Nope, timeline for the birth of Jesus probably puts him somewhere in kate summer-ish i believe. The possitioning of the religious holiday on the 25th of december is to take the place of the Winter Solstice, an important pegan holiday. A common practice used by the Christians to ease the transition for people from their older religions to the new Christian beliefs.

Well, assuming you think there was a dude named Jesus, even the church relied on scientists to try and figure out the accurate date, using a supernova or other bright sky object that would have been visible. From what I remember, the REAL date is several months off.

Your right. Its the catholic churches way of making the ancient pagans stop their yule celebrations. The pagan lord is born on yule. so they changed the story to say that their "Savior" was born.
Plus, there are baby sheep in the nativity scenes. Hello! Sheep are born in spring.
The same was done with the "Devil". The only reason the devil is a horned beast is because the ancient pagans viewed the lord as a horned man, one with nature.

Not literally, early Christians started celebrating it to coincide with the winter solstice to avoid persecution. But it really doesn't matter what day we choose, does it?

acctually it was kinda late spring, the exact date doesnt really matter, it is celebrated in december so that early christians could pass it off as winter solstice and celebrate without persecution, hence, christmas is pagan.

nope. no one knows for certain when it was. most likely thats the date that the three wise men finally made it to him... if you read the bible correctly, like, apparently it took the wise men years or months ot travel to him. they just simplify it in little kids stories and movies and say they got there all in one night. lol
