I've noticed amongst my agnostic and atheistic friends, that upon looking at the Christian faith, that the catholic one, is the most respectable, and the closest to the bible, be it make believe or possibly make believe in their mind. I am curious fellow Catholics do you have many friends that tell you the same, also fellow atheists and agnostics please give me your insight, always refreshing to have an outside view sometimes.

The atheists and agnostics (and pagans) I know consider Catholicism the least objectionable sect of Christianity primarily because Catholics do not proselytize or evangelize or pass out literature or knock on people's doors asking to talk to them about their religion.

Catholics will inform you issues like they "have faith" church management replaced into handed down in direct succession from Peter. Or that there are some biblical "tricks" on the subject of the trinity. Or they had some mysterious authority to alter the day of worship from Saturday (the holy sabbath) to Sunday. Or that there is a few biblical foundation for the communion of Saints. Or that the determination technique for the recent testomony replaced into divinely inspired and without politics in contact. they are able to even quote scripture to instruct authority for church custom. Their justifications are self-serving and skinny at ultimate. They serve basically to bolster the church's grip on Catholics. that's what the Protestant reformation replaced into all approximately. by utilising the way: the trinity, the veneration of the Virgin Mary, the communion of Saints or perhaps Christmas and Easter has its roots in polytheistic pagan religions -- the very comparable pagan religions from which the early church switched over its contributors. those concessions to the polytheistic pagans made it extra elementary to proselytize and recruit converts.

Most Catholics, don't go out of their way to preach and change my life to suit their needs and belief.

Some do, but a small majority compared with evangelicals or spirit filled Christians.

I believe both Catholics and Christians are wrong about their belief system, but also understand that an Easter and Christmas Catholic is far less likely to try and usurp my choices of education for my kids, picket gay communities and abortion clinics or believe with full faith that scaring my children with descriptions of hell is acceptable.

That is a Christian trait, which I am vehemently against.

Most respectable? What does that mean, exactly?

Closest to the Bible? Yeah, right....maybe the corrupt Catholic Bible. But it is far from being the most accurate faith according to a real Bible. According to the Bible, the doctrines of the RCC are the doctrines of devils.

"the catholic one, is the most respectable, and the closest to the bible"

They like to believe it is.

Actually the Seventh Day Adventists are probably closest. Catholics recognize portions of it as folklore, some others do not and take every word as literal, yet others recognize all of it as folklore and still believe.

I am by no means evil.

I just don't think that God can be limited to some 'man in the sky' who judges us. Of course it is easier to envision such a being as a creature that is in our own form. But my idea, respect, and understanding of God is not limited by words in a book.

Umm, no. I don't think so.

Catholicism as an organisation has serious issues. As a faith, it seems far more rooted in tradition than the bible.

Are you referring to their habit of rear ending little boys ? Because hardly { no pun intended } a day goes by when you see another child molestation lawsuit being settled by them ! Or possibly you are referring to their history of rape torture and war against more peaceful and advanced people ! How come the only history or news a catholic thinks he needs is the garbage his/her church tells him is the truth ?

I don't see following the bible the closest as being respectable. I think making decisions on your own without ancient writings dictating them is respectable.
