So Sister Johnson can get up in Fast and Testimony meeting and tell about when she got up with little Timmy when he had a really bad fever and she didn't know what to do and so she knelt down to pray and when she stood up and looked out her window at 2:30 in the morning she saw the brilliant lustor of the temple, shining as a beacon of truth and hope for a world full of those lost in the inky blackness of despair and sin.
I'm glad I don't live close to one because the light would bug me when I'm sleeping but I think that the properties around temples probably have increased value due to their proximity to the temple.

nicely, i'm no longer Mormon, so i'm no longer able to assert. even with the incontrovertible fact that they'd sense that it is having a foul result on the country, and so it relatively is taken under consideration necessary positioned funds into battling it. i will play the two sides of the fence right here. at the start, no longer legalizing gay marriage isn't comparable to outlawing it. It only means you're no longer calling it marriage. i think of that gays will pass on having the same rights in California. on the different hand, why make investments plenty funds on pushing proposition 8, whilst there are different concerns that are so significant? Now it relatively is a sturdy question. toddlers are literally starving to death best on our continent - between the main harsh deaths which you may think of - and we are contributing to that throughout the process the abuse of the multinationals. If the money positioned into struggling with gay marriage were positioned into getting politicians to rigidity worldwide companies to manage their workers extremely in different countries until eventually now being allowed to sell in ours - nicely, there could be an incredible distinction in lots of lives in Latin u.s. and someplace else right this moment. plenty extra significant than the question of whether gay marriage could be known or no longer, is the question of what are we doing appropriate to the actual desires in this international? Why do no longer we combat against the worst iniquities? (with the help of ways, did you recognize that the main significant reason God destroyed Sodom became because of the fact of their therapy of immigrants and of the susceptible?) So a good style of conservatives are working in the direction of actual "Sodomy"!!!! and that they are no longer doing it anonymously in much low-cost hotel rooms the two. they're doing it out on the open marketplace.

Why would you ask such a question just of the LDS - the Church of Scotland Church in my town is flood light all night too.
Maybe instead of focusing on something like the amount of electricity we use you should be focusing on the good we do in the world - the lorry loads of aid sent to california after the fires or a the tons of aid sent after natural disasters around the world.

Safety and security. Those who patrol the grounds in the wee hours are better able to their jobs. It is less likely that vandals will bother the building. Give them a dark corner, and they will do their worst.

no...the mormon church isnt the only ones wasting electricity keeping lights on when they arent needed. what about the thousands of mall parking lots that stay lit up every night... grocery stores, and thousnads of other businesses are just as guilty. not to mention these ludicrous and garish christmas lights on every street!

Because they are a beacon shining in the night, to all the lost souls, wandering in the dark.
It is a pity, that people are more interested in making fun of another persons' beliefs, than they are in 'finding the truth"!
Instead of knocking somebody's else's church, why don't you read the bible, and study about how to learn humility, and kindness to others.

Yes, the LDS church is the only organization in the world that keeps its lights on at night. Good point.
