Yes. You need other nutrients in your body then just steamed broccoli. Yes you are getting carbs, calcium, and other nutrients; however, you are not getting a great source of protein, sugar or the essential fats that our bodies need.

Steamed broccoli is very nutritious but the best way to get a balanced diet that contains all the nutrients you need (protein, carbs, fats, grains, fruits and vegetables all contain different vitamins and minerals necessary for good health) is to eat a wide variety of foods. Eating only broccoli would not be a healthy thing to do.

why would you want to do that? your body would starve... 1 cup of broccoli only has like 7 calories and your body needs at least 1500 a day just to live. that's soooo much broccoli to eat! plus, just because broccoli is healthy, doesn't mean that it's the only thing you should eat. that's why they have the food pyramid and other stuff to help you eat a balanced diet. that's how it's supposed to be! there are plenty of other healthy foods that will benefit you if you combine them with broccoli. but yeah, i do think it would be bad for you in the long run cause you would overdose on certain nutrients while not getting a lot of other ones.

Eating too much of a food can actually make you develop a food alergy to it.

Also, broccoli has no appreciable dietary fats or protein, both of which you need to function properly. Plus, I can't imagine anyone getting a sufficient amount of their required daily calories eating only broccoli.

All and all, any diet consisting of only 1 food is almost always a bad idea.

you could merely pass chilly turkey and not purchase the junk he will devour. cook dinner healthful nutrition, serve them and if he refuses to devour, do not make a controversy of it. merely do away together with his plate and pass on inclusive of your day/evening. If he refuses quite a few nutrition then enable him. he will finally get hungry and devour. teenagers will use nutrition like a weapon against you in the event that they think of which you will provide in to what they desire extremely than what's served. What you serve is it. believe me, whilst he is going devoid of eating for some nutrition of his selection then he will devour of his own deciding on besides. Yes -- you can't eat only one food and get all the nutrients you need to survive. In order to be healthy (and thrive), you need to eat a balance of foods -- protein sources, vegetables, whole grains, fruits, etc.
