all foods give you energy. When the cells in your body run low on energy they send signals to your brain through your nerves. then your brain gives you the signal, you get hungry. then...when you eat food, the cells energy powers up. thats why when you are hungry you feel lazy or sleepy because the cells have low energy. but few foods do give you more of other important stuff:
fish helps you focus, chicken gives you protein ETC.

bananas , chocolate gives u energy i always have a couple of jaffa cakes before going to the gym seems to keep me going

potasium like banana.
chicken, pasta because they are hard on the mebolism and hard on digestion makes it slow to absorb energy, so you can not get hungry for a long while
