You get up to 3 credit reports for free. You can get one free per year from each of the 3 primary credit reporting companies; Equifax, Transunion and Experian.

I usually do one of them every 4 months - that way I have an idea of what my credit looks like year round.

The credit reports are completely free of charge. However, they do not disclose your fico score.

The only really free one is the Annualcreditreport.com. Of course, they will try to sell you a 3-in-1 credit score report also, but you can say no. By law, you are allowed a free credit report once a year for no reason at all. Go and visit the above site and get your report.

You are entitled to a free report once a year. Go directly to the credit agency (experian and so on) and they will provide one to you. Also, if you have been turned down for credit, you are entitled to a free report to see what information caused the decision

Once a year, you can get a free report from each company, but not a credit score.

Go to Experian.com, Equifax.com and Transunion.com. If you want a score (yes, get the score) they charge about $6 each.

You get the initial report free and they enroll you in some Triple Advantage BS where they keep an eye on your credit score for you. Once you get your credit report, just call them and cancel the service and you won't get charged. Just make sure you cancel it within 30 days.
