It depends on the school and the specific class. Many schools have different prerequisites. While some may require ethics, speech, foreign languages, algebra, philosophy, etc.. , some only require the basics like A&P, Microbiology, and Chemistry.

If there is a college that doesn't require the prerequisite that you dropped, you should apply to that one. Others may require it but will allow you to take it again. It really all depends on the college.

If you need help looking for a nursing college, you can try the following site:

It's very comprehensive. If it doesn't list all of the nursing programs in the US, it certainly lists most of them. It also has a great search engine.

Good luck!

If it is a prerequisite, then it will have to be completed prior to admission. Most nursing programs have similar prerequisites, except that BSN programs, usually have more prerequisites than ADN programs.

If the prerequisite is a natural science course, you may want to consider the major.

If you have withdrawn passing, it should not have a significant bearing, unless you are in a close competition for the admission to the program. Multiple withdrawals could be a discriminator for the admissions committee. If you have a withdrawn failing, it will be a more significant discriminator.

In our area this past year we had people refused admission to nursing programs with 3.8 averages overall. The competition is getting tougher.
