You should wait at least 2 hours. This is because when you eat food your body releases insulin. Insulin is an anabolic hormone (stimulates the storage of energy and fat). After eating a simple meal, a normal healthy individual (ie: not diabetic) will have lower insulin levels after 2 hours due to the body having lowered much of the blood sugar. If you sleep while blood sugar is high then you are not expending much energy and much of the sugar can be converted to fat; which over time can lead to weight gain.
In conclusion:
Lower blood sugar => lower insulin => no anabolism "storage mode" while sleeping.

To digest, 2 hours is fine, but to not gain weight because of it 4 hours.

you are right, going to bed after eating causes weight gain, and can lead to esophageal reflux. To avoid reflux, stay upright for two hours after eating. To avoid weight gain, remain up for four to six hours between your last meal and bedtime.

Try avoiding any meal after 19:00 (at most).-mainly because body metabolism slows down after 20:00 or so...

That's true. You should wait at least an hour, but two is best, I think.
