Scientology treats celebrities much differently than regular members. Celebrities are given lavish gifts and parties in order to get more publicity for their "religion". Regular members must PAY for different levels of training. The training gets increasingly more expensive the higher the level. This often ends in bankruptcy for these members.

Scientology also employs many lawyers to sue the pants off of people who try to expose it for what it is... a cult founded by a science fiction author with the sole purpose of making money.

I think L. Ron said it best himself when he said...

"MAKE MONEY. MAKE MORE MONEY. MAKE OTHER PEOPLE PRODUCE SO AS TO MAKE MORE MONEY."

- L. Ron Hubbard, Hubbard Communications Office Policy Letter, 9 March 1972, MS OEC 384

"Somebody some day will say ‘this is illegal.’ By then be sure the orgs [Scientology organizations] say what is legal or not."

- L. Ron Hubbard, Hubbard Communications Office Policy Letter, 4 January 1966, "LRH Relationship to Orgs"

"THE ONLY WAY YOU CAN CONTROL PEOPLE IS TO LIE TO THEM. You can write that down in your book in great big letters. The only way you can control anybody is to lie to them."

- L. Ron Hubbard, "Off the Time Track," lecture of June 1952, excerpted in JOURNAL OF SCIENTOLOGY issue 18-G, reprinted in TECHNICAL VOLUMES OF DIANETICS & SCIENTOLOGY, vol. 1, p. 418

"Scientology...is not a religion."

- L. Ron Hubbard, CREATION OF HUMAN ABILITY, 1954, p. 251

Scientology panders specifically to celebrities. It's true. There's an official "Celebrity Centre" right in Hollywood. In fact, it's the crown jewel of all their international and domestic celeb centres. Take a look at the website:

Here's an article which explains in great detail why celebrities are so often recruited into Scientology:

They have a lot of money, with nothing better to do. If one person does it then everyone else in Hollywood wants to join in.

What's wrong?

Scientology is fairly believable compared to Tower of Babel and Noah's ark.

They have to waste their money on something and this seems in vogue along with "adopting" children (Madonna not Angelina)
