Where in the bible does it prescribe what exact clothing a woman may wear, and not wear? There may be admonishments to modesty, but I recall NO such mandating of style. As a bicyclist, and one who has done a LOT of long-distance rides, as well as commuting by bicycle, I seldom see any women wearing skirts on a bike because the skirt runs an excellent chance of getting fouled in the chain if it is long, (An excellent way to cause an accident, as well as trash the skirt) or of wafting-up if the winds are wrong. (So much for modesty, and another easy way to have an accident) Neither does it prevent thigh-chafing, which would be really uncomfortable after any time at all, nor does it provide any protection to the skin on the legs in the event of a fall. I'm certain, considering the encouragements to treat the body like a temple, that protecting the comfort and health, along with the modesty of your body would be the smiled-upon option. Wear a comfortable pair of jeans, or, if you get serious, a pair of cycling-pants.

I am sure God wouldn't mind. The Bible does not say that woman have to wear skirts and dresses. The Bible only says that you shouldn't dress like a man. That means you can wear nice feminine pants that are made for women.

Well, first of all the bible never states that women wear dresses and men wear pants.
Good thing it doesnt saythat or Moses and Jesus and Paul and Peter, etc would all be in trouble.
They wore dresses!! At least that is what we may call them now a days. Robes, dresses. call them what you will, but they certainly never wore pants or jeans as we know them today.
What the bible does say is that women must dress as women and men must dress as men.
It means that you should not dress up as a man for the purpose of decieving another into thinking that you are aman if you are indeed a woman.
A man should not dress as a woman for the purpose of decieving another in believing that he is a woman.
Now , this was being done with regularity in the Pagen temples, and this practice of deception is what is being addressed by Paul.
It really had NOTHING to do with the actual clothing that we wear now a days, it had and still has everything to do with how we present ourselves.

Most religous folks draw from verses like:
Deuteronomy 22:5 The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God.
The above has to do with a woman taking a man's place in a sexual act ... same for a man taking a woman's place in a sexual act. So, wear what you wish when riding a bike. Anyway, I'd like to see some of those porker pastors fit into, for example, a woman's pant suit ;-)

Seriously - I don't think God cares how you dress. I don't think a supreme being would be *that* petty, not to mention - fashion conscious. He's God, not a fashion designer.
I say go ahead and wear a pair of sweat pants. There are just some activities wearing dresses is innappropriate for. Bike riding is one of them. I'd be concerned the dress would get caught in the spokes and rip off.

I think a dress makes me look very feminine. But there are sometimes when pants come in very handy. I see no reason why this is still an issue. The bible states that women are not supposed to wear mens attire. when ladies jeans were made they were not designed for men they were designed for "ladies." There are pants for men and pants for women.
Some may not agree with this reasoning but this is how i feel.

I know plently of guys who would LOVE if girls wore skirts while they rode a bike......
No where in the Bible does it state that women have to wear dresses or skirts. You can wear pants and be just as "modest" Even Islam allows that. Its actually very dangerous to wear a skirt and ride a bike.

I think it's wrong to wear a dress or skirt on a bike! People can see up it so easily! That's completely immodest.
If you are worried, where some baggy style pants. That's just wrong to wear a dress on a bike!

Hmm, I don't know where that scripture is, but if wearing pants or shorts is a sin, then I know a whole LOT of Christians (myself included) that aren't getting into Heaven.
If you feel that strongly about it, you can get a split skirt (kinda like coulattes). My friend (who's father was a pentecost minister) wore those for gym class and goofing off outdoors.

I think modesty is the key. One option (especially if it is chilly) is to wear pants under a skirt. (My wife does that often) YHVH wants things to work well. Not that a person has to swing on swings, but that would seem a really stupid place for a dress. If you study what Moses wrote (at YHVH's direction) regarding dress, you might be very surprised.
