This is the problem: Jesus never said anything deragotory about gay marriage. Jesus hung out wth 12 men (in a society where homosexuality wasn't even an issue) Jesus preached about forgiveness and love. Then you have PAUL who wrote several books in the bible. Paul is the one who made reference to how evil it is for a man to lay with a man, (or a woman to lay with a woman) Why doesn't Paul have so much power, when we worship God? There were a handful of men who chose what books went into the bible. A handful of people who were choosing "the best representative" of what society should be like according to god. A group of people who lived hundreds of years AFTER Jesus. I mentioned this in my church's bible study and their response was... "But these people were INSPIRED by God". I believe HITLER used the same theory. I believe those who killed and bludgered others during the crusades used the same arguement. (I even think many criminals believed they were inspired by god) So as a Christian, what do I believe. I believe God gave us a life to live. He gave us free will. He loves us and we should love others. I don't judge others on the life they live, that is between them and their GOD. Should Gay people get married: Absolutely they should have the same rights that all citizens have. SHould they be able to adopt? Absolutely (as long as they meet the requirements other adoptive parents have) I am tired of the conservative sect of Christians being the "standard" or the example of Christianity. I think Christ would have been a democrat. (after all didn't he hang out with a woman of questionable values???) Sorry... don't mean any disrespect, but Christ was human. And sometimes I think some people take religion just a little bit too seriously. God has a great sense of humor. (think about the platypus or as I tell my own children... he made my funny face... :) Have a great day. Interesting question, but i think you are preaching to the choir here!!

Hypocrites like the Ted Haggard who called Bush weekly. Romney pal Idaho Senator Larry Craig, and the pedophile preachers. Evangelicals that push their washed brains on others and then turn around to be hypocrites.
Believe, Believe, Believe ... I'm tired of this nonsense.

They can start by just...being christian and thats it. People who try to convert other people are just annoying. I don't believe in anything, simply because I just dont. Sometimes people try talking me into believing, and to me, it just sounds stupid. I'm not saying it is...I'm just saying that a person has the right to believe what they want and it is a very personal thing, that no one has a right to try to change.

I just try to be friendly to everyone and stay aware of my surroundings to what's being said and done around me. I've been able to witness to people in stores, just by striking up a conversation with them. If they're interested, the conversation continues. If they aren't then I move on and continue shopping.

you can be a witness in your own life. You might be the only bible some people ever read. If you follow in the steps of Christ, people notice that you are different and will often ask you what it is that makes you so joyful.

they cant.
Most Christians, especially NEW to the faith are so full of joy that they cant contain it. The gay (and happy newness of mind) is all over their face!

Personally I don't believe any religion should "recruit" people.

If your religion truly helps people spiritually, they will come on their own over time. If you have to rely on "recruiting" measures than its apparent your particular faith is pretty poor.
